Missing data and wonky data

hi!

So I've had something really odd and frustrating today!

I went on a run at lunch today, and used Strava to record the run.  Everything seemed to go well, I had 8900 steps on my fitbit and thought everything went okay.

I did a sync to my phone, and suddenly I'm down to 2000ish steps and my active minutes are at 783!  Which doesn't make sense.  I looked back at my past days, and my Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday have also gone down to 2000 or so, with active minutes at 1400.

I've tried the steps with resetting a few times, turning off bluetooth, logging out of the app, logging in, and nothing has changed.

Help!

Thanks,

Rachel

Just for some closure - I figured it out.

I sometimes track in Strava and it syncs to my fitbit.  The mapping is more accurate there, so I like it a lot.

Unfortunately, last week I went on a run, started Strava but somehow it paused while I was running.  So when I finished I was a little mad and just closed the app. I opened it today to record, and it didn't make a new one - it started off from my old one!  It basically has an activity that's 102 hours (46 minutes of actual running), and it replaced all my activity from the weekend with this activity, hence 1440 minutes of activity!

Ridiculous, but I did figure out what happened.

I've also had wonky data for the last week or so. yesterday I got a notification that I had 500+ steps to meet my goal, when I still had 2000 left. My steps don't seem to be getting counted and my sleep data is off also. I wonder if it's the last update or my blaze is designed to die just as the newest watch comes out. Sunday I worked my butt off and it wasn't counted as a day of excercise until I manually added it.

Another bit of wonky data ......went down the gym and went on the treadmill.  I selected Treadmill as per my normal workouts and set it off.  When I came to check my data its got my heart rate and calories burnt listed but no time and its not added the time to my total exercise.

More help needed.

Went for a hike Monday. My phone recorded 28 flights, my blaze counted 125 flights! Why am I getting wonky data? Is my blaze dying? How long should a fitbit watch last? is all the data I'm getting bad data?

A warm welcome to the Community @RedDeStijl, I am glad to hear that your issue has been resolved. Thanks for letting us know how you figured this out. @cdproject and @Catey It's great to see you around.

I would like to know if you have tried to restart your trackers? If you haven't, I recommend restarting them. Also, I would like to know how are you recording your exercises? Are you manually logging them or are you selecting a shortcut? Are you using a third party app to log your activities?

Hope to hear from you soon. Woman Happy
