I didn't see a resolution for the music control.  I have a Samsung 6.  I went to the settings on my Blaze and selected Pair.  The bluetooth is on, I play my music and the controls still show 'not connected'.  Does anyone have a solution?

For Andriod phones, the music control uses BT Classic - is it set for that?

Music Control gets a facelift with Blaze! Learn more about your power to control music below. For a more detailed look at Music Control on your Blaze, please see this help article.

Music Control:

With Blaze, you can control your music with the touch of a button! To access Music Control, simply swipe downward on your home screen. Improvements to this feature include a Bluetooth Low Energy (BTLE) connection for iOS instead of BT Classic. We've also added the ability to rewind and increase/decrease the volume of the song, in addition to fast forwarding and play/pause.

Notes

  • Android and Windows phones will still use BT Classic for using Music Control.
  • While in exercise mode, press/hold Blaze's top-right button for 2 seconds to bring Music Control up.
  • You'll use both buttons on the right to control volume on Blaze. See image to the right.
  • As with most other Bluetooth devices, if you connect another Bluetooth device and disconnect your Blaze, you will have to connect it again the next time you want to use it to control music.

No matter what you're rocking out to, we're sure you'll love using Music Control on Blaze!

I had some luck just restarting the Blaze - going to settings, shut down, then powering back up.  That at least got it to recognize what was playing.  I still have an issue with the play/pause and forward/reverse buttons, none of which seem to do anything on the Blaze... 😞

Once the Blaze is on pair, then go to the phones BT page and connect the phone to Blaze Claaic

I did have completely unpair it from phone and disconnect all other BT devices. Then I was able to pair the device to my phone next I started playing my music app next step select exercise mode on the blaze and press and hold the top right button in until the music controls appear when mine connected it showed music title and the controls, then I was able to connect my BT headset.

@Tarra I'm not sure who marked your question as a solution, i missed your question beforr.
After setting the BT on the Charge to Pair,
go to the BT settings screen on the phone.
Have the phone search for availible devices. Blaze Classic should show up.
Now tell it to pair, a number will show up on the Phone and Blaze.
Press yes on both Blaze and Phone to conform that this is the correct device.

Sta rt up your music player on the phone.
Start playing some music
On the Blaze swipe down on the clock screen, or hold the tip right button.
The music control will pop up.

@Rich_Laue I did that by accident....let me go back and fix that.  My issues with the music control is resolved and what I meant to do was stop these notifications.

Wouldn't it make more sense to replace the notification on/of setting in the Music face with a BT Classic On/Off?  That way you could turn it off when not controlling the music to save battery.  The notification On/Off could be at the bottom of the notification face or in the settings...

On the Blaze under settings is the BT Classic on/off

Yeah, which is why it would be nice if it was moved.

Nice, It does need to be made clear that the Bluetooth settings need to be scanned again to pickup the Blaze classic option, once scanned & the classic is selected the player does work. Thanks for all the threads on here I was able to sort my player out also & now stream my Play music.

Good stuff,

Thanks fitbit community  Smiley Very Happy

Setting up music control with BT classic is explained in the pinned past,  and your Blaze manual.

This method worked perfect, thank you!

Very clear steps. I have my Blaze paired with my phone (LG Nexus 5x). The phone bluetooth settings show "Blaze (Classic)" connected. When I go to the Blaze music control the display keeps showing "Connecting...loading music". Music controls don't work. I'm using Pandora for music, does that work with the Blaze? Do I need to use a specific music player? I've tried using the Google Play music app, same results.

Follow-up: Music control will work with my wired earphones but not my wireless earphones (LG HBS850).

It should @MrRecliner

Is Blaze Classic paired with the phone?

Please check that Bluetooth on the Blaze is turned on.

Have you tried a restart of the phone?

Let's swipe down on the notification panel, hold the finger on the Bluetooth.

Tap the settings gear to the right of the Blaze Classic.

You are looking to see if it is enabled for input device.

Once your sure it is enabled, let's restart the phone, start playing something on Pandora.

Now see if you can control music.Cat Happy
