My FitBit Blaze is getting a bit 'quirky'

At first it was the time that my FitBit got stuck on the Today screen.

It still gets stuck showing me my details and requires me to try reset (left and bottom right buttons) and/or a fancy move involving holding the left button and swiping downwards at the same time.  Eventually I can get it unstuck, but it's happening enough to be irritating.

Then there was the evening it would not sync for several days -but mysteriously resolved itself while I slept.

Now my FitBit has decided to stop doing my heart rate today.  Zip, nilch, nada.   How am I supposed to get an idea of the effect of my walk home when the heart rate is not included in my workout?    Reset did nothing; but a shutdown and reboot did.  [For Now? -Sigh-]

Oh, and it seems to be going through battery much faster than normal.

Things are starting to get to the point where I can't use the device as intended.  It's becoming rather unreliable.  Any ideas appreciated.  Thanks.

Also experiencing reliability issues with mine in the last week or so.

1. The new function for sleep "works" sporadically, perhaps for a run of 6 days then decides not to function for 2 or 3 nights and goes back to the old style function. I use the term "work" loosely because the longest period of deep sleep I've achieved so far was while awake and surfing the internet a few evenings ago!

2. An old problem has resurfaced whereby my Blaze shows that I have completed 250 steps in the hour but doesn't sync this information. It is nothing to do with the syncing device being on a slightly different time either. Did my 10-11 am steps about 15 minutes before the hour was up and they have not registered.

3. Last night's auto recognised elliptical exercise registered as 10 minutes and 46 calories when I actually did 45 minutes. Fortunately the calories did increase while I was exercising as did the exercise time but when I look back at the exercise log in the future it looks like I did very little exercise that day.

4. My battery is also flattening quicker.

The community aspect of Fitbit is without doubt the best available, but it seems that Fitbit are more interested in bringing out new models rather than ensuring their current ones work effectively.

I have noticed the same thing with the two different sleep functions/measurements.  It appears rather random.

Mine also cut out in the middle of a treadmil workout a couple of days ago -I assumed at the time this was because of the empty/dead/flat battery (Note earlier complaint about shorter battery life at present).

Sadly the heart rate cut out again today and a shutdown at the time did not restore it.  A second shutdown just now seems to have it working again -for now.

And I see a lot of new posts on the forum with people experiencing combinations of all these issues. =(.  What a mess!!!

Thank you Wendy

After your message I did try cleaning the contacts, though they did not look dirty or damaged.

The Blaze is not working any better.  Unfortunately I cannot practically contact support as I am in New Zealand and so cannot ring the American number.
