My Fitbit Blaze won't track my routes

I have a fitbit blaze and before I would be able to track the routes which all of the sudden it does not do anymore. Before I would see the GPS map on my phone on the Fitbit app the route I would walk or run. I would just connect my fitbit blaze via bluetooth and after the run/walk it would send the information to my phone. I have a Galaxy Note 5 running marshmellow. Is anyone else having this issue?

I believe i was having the same issue and resolved it. if on your blaze you go to Exercise then run you will see a gear on the bottom left of the screen. click on the gear and make sure use phone gps is turned on. somehow mine was off and I had stopped seeing the route on my phone.

I haven't noticed it, maybe. The Blaze however does not send the info to the phone, it sends the info to the Fitbit server through your phone. Now the Fitbit App goes out to the server to retrieve the data.. I'm not sure why but i frequently see the app not updating swiftly.. So go to your exercise logs on the web and chec'k you runs there.

I go to the Fitbit app it says I ran or walk but does not show the map with
the route I ran or walk. I don't know why I just stopped showing me the map
but I really want that feature to work again.

Does a map show up on the Web dashboard?

Do you still have notifacations enabled and receive them on the Blaze?

The map does not show up on the dashboard anymore and yes I have all my
notifications on. It was showing the maps before I don't know why it
stopped.

Hi there @Baca305. Good to see you in the Community!

Have you noticed by any chance if the GPS stops or gets interrupted while you're running or walking?

If you take your tracker somewhere the reception is not very good, this could cause your tracker to quit recording the GPS information causing it not to show the map. Are you anyway still getting the information for your activity and it's just the map not showing or is it the whole thing not showing up?

Hello. I recently started having this problem with my tracker not tracking my routes. I walk in the same area over lunch, so I know the distance of the walk. However, it has been showing the distance as almost a mile less. The GPS is constantly getting "interrupted" in the walk. It has happened occasionally on walks before, but now happens over 10+ times in a 2 mile walk. My Bluetooth and GPS is on. It shows the route on my phone, but not always fully or accurately. Can anyone please provide suggestions? Fitbit Blaze purchased 2016.

Hi @GetupGetmoving. Great to see you in the Forums! 🙂

I'm sorry you're having problems with this 😕

I could think this is a connectivity issue, so I can probably recommend setting up your tracker as a new device. For this, make sure to sync it so you don't lose any information and after that, go to the Account section at the top right corner on the Fitbit app and select the option that says "Set up a new device". Follow the on-screen instructions and once you're done, your tracker should be syncing without a problem. That should help to keep the GPS connectivity stable.

Let me know how it goes!

I've been having connected GPS issues since this week too.  It's been fine before then, but now it won't track my routes or disconnects mid-tracking.  I called Fitbit support and they seemed aware of the issue - they must have introduced some bug in their Android app.  I hope it's fixed soon!

For about the last six weeks my Blaze has been sporadically tracking my routes via gps.   It finally stopped tracked two weeks ago.  I’ve done all the things suggested/recommended and to no avail.  I gather from reading the comments on the forum this is a known issue.  Just how long will it take for this to be fixed.  I have an outstanding issue from Sept 2016, yes 2016 that still isn’t resolved.  The standard response is the “engineers are aware of this & working on it”.

Mine stopped mapping after Jan 1, 2019. (No map, or map with a short straight line)  I run the same routes with the same phone that have worked dozens of times before. My Use Phone GPS is clearly marked as On. I've restarted the phone, Blaze and the app.  Sometimes it's a connection issue I guess, I sometimes get a Can't Find Phone error even when the two are side by side and did a recent successful sync. My phone always pairs with my car perfectly and its GPS works great with other apps.  This has happened and randomly fixed itself a few other times with the Blaze. Without studying to be a Bluetooth engineer I've concluded that the Blaze is simply not dependable enough to be counted on 100% for mapping if you're doing an important race, but it tries its best. I really can't go to a forum before every run  and try nine different things if it maps perfectly on Jan 1 and stops on Jan 2-9.
