My exercise isn't being registered automatically

Hi, my auto activity hasn’t been working since 12/31. I’ve tried restarting, changing to auto HR, and removing the device from the app. It’s incredibly frustrating to have to manually enter all of my exercise.

Please help!

A warm welcome to the Forums @Rocharron and thanks for troubleshooting this by yourself.

Can you please check if this feature is off by doing the following from your Fitbit app:

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Exercise tile.
  2. Tap or click the gear icon, and then tap or click the target exercise and check the auto-recognize setting.

If it is off, you just need to turn on the activities you will be doing and then just test the tracker.

Let me know the outcome. Smiley Happy

What did they have you do to fix it.  My last 2 workouts have not registered and that's very frustrating!!!  Thanks

Hi. They made me reset the tracker by holding the left button and lower
right button 2x with 10 seconds between each time. Also, I had to go into
my settings and change all of my exercises to 10minutes for auto detect. I
removed my Fitbit from the app and then relinked it as well.

Thank you for the answer! I've only had this for 2 weeks and I hate that
I'm already having issues! I appreciate your time!

How do you manually enter exercise? I take two classes each night. It registers the 2nd class which is a dance class but not the first which varies but an example is butts and guts.

Welcome to the Community @gettinitdone@Amydanell and @Rocharron those are great news, I am glad to hear that your tracker is now working properly and thanks for sharing the steps you tried to fix it.

@gettinitdone Did you try the steps provided? The instructions worked for you too? Now @Amydanell, to enter a custom activity, you need to do the following from a computer:

1. Go to http://www.fitbit.com/activities to see your activity log. Start typing in the search box under 'Log Activities".
2. Enter any physical activity you find yourself doing often.
3. After adding the activity, there will be the option to customize the activity via duration, distance (if applicable) start time and calories.

See you around. Smiley Happy
