I charged my Fitbit for 12 hours and when I unplugged it, it wouldn't turn on and was very hot. I let it sit for about half an hour and is still hot and won't turn on.

Welcome to the forums @MAYO_MAN
These devices don't need to be charged for such a long time. My Blaze, when the battery is low, takes under ninety minutes to fully charge.
You should try a restart of the Blaze and then see how it goes.
Let us know what happens.

If the device is still to hot, there is protection that will keep it from turning on. My convearn is to why did it get so hot.

My guess is that something failed and caused it to over heat. I did not expect it turn on.
