You check if it's charging by opening and closing the charging cradle. If it is it will briefly show a battery with an indication of how full it is.

If it isn't charging then perhaps try a wall charger such as the one you use to charge your phone. Any USB power source should be fine although fitbit recommend that it's UL certified.

If the displAy on the Blaze shows www.fitbit.com/setup there will not be any charging indicator.. After spending 30 to 60 minutes, open the fitbit software and connect it to your axccount. You'll be asked to update the firmware, at this poi. T if the battery is low the app will notify you. If the battery is good enough then the app wlll proceed to update the firmware.
On a the.blaze is connected to your account and the firmware is updated the battery indicator will then be displayed while charging or on any screen but the clock.

The other way would be to do the setup while the blaze is sitting in its charger. And charrging.

After reading an article on someone else's page --- the fitbit Blaze WILL NOT show the charging bar initially --- just continue with it in the cradle and continue with set-up.
