My new Fitbit Blaze won't charge

I just got my Fitbit Blaze in the mail today and I go to set it up and it says the battery is low. I plug it into the USB port on my computer but nothing happens. It's just stuck on the Fitbit.com/setup screen.

Is there something I need to do to get it charging?

Have you tried a different USB port. The one you have it plugged into maybe bad.

Hi there,

I too have just received my new Fitbit Blaze but have been unable to set it up due to a low battery. I cannot charge it as well and it stays on the same 'fitbit.com/setup' screen. Have you been able to resolve this issue? Was there anything you may have been doing wrong? Thank you for info you can offer.

A warm welcome to the Community @Morgannemary@LydiaJoi it's great to see you around and @WendyB thanks for stopping by.

I would like to know if you keep having problems charging your trackers? If you do, I recommend restarting them and then clean the charging contacts on the back of your Fitbit Blaze, since over time the contacts can accumulate dirt and debris that prevents them from making a good connection to the charger. Use a toothpick or toothbrush to clean the charging contacts; do not scrape them with anything metal because this can damage the plating and result in corrosion.

I hope this helps, let me know the outcome. Woman Happy

I'm getting the same message.  I just got it brand new yesterday for my birthday.  It won't charge and it will not update.  I already tried restarting it and that did not work either 😞

Same problem here:

Box-fresh Blaze - showing nothing but the Fitbit logo when put in charging cradle. Not possible to charge, nor restart.... Back to the shop tomorow i guess....

I'm guessing it is not a charging issue. The blaze does take a while to set up. I too thought my device had something wrong with it but I realized that I had to go into the fitbit app from the appstore and set it up following all the directions.

Not at all impressed with the fitbit range. Just took back my fitbit surge because of bubbling and thought I would give Fitbit another chance to replace it with Fitbit Blaze. All my hopes are going down in a blaze of glory as it won't sync because the battery is low but then it also won't charge as it needs to be updated.

UNtil your Blaze is setup, and the setup message is gone, the only ondication of chrgong eill be the vibration when attaching the cwble.

When setting up the spp will tell you that the battery is low, if it does needto becharged. It might not.

I actually bought two Blaze, and one came right up throug the set up on my iPhone. When I tried to set up the other one (with exact same procedure on my wife's phone) I didn't get any "life signals" from the Blaze at all, except a flashing Fitbit logo when I put it in the charger.  Went back to the store today and they replaced it, no questions asked! 🙂

For the first two weeks, I used my wall charger, and all was fine. But no longer. Now I need to charge from my laptop USB. Good luck!
