Newest software--now not syncing; phone not found; check app

Well, most times that the app updates I have to restart the phone; sometimes multiple times; sometimes having to restart my Blaze as well.  But with the latest release, now my Blaze pretty much NEVER finds my phone to use the GPS in the Walk mode, for example.  Usually, but not always, I can get my phone to sync the other information; and maybe every 10th try I can get the Blaze to use the phone's gps.  But this leads me to two questions:  WHY IS IT ALWAYS HARD TO GET THE BLAZE TO RECOGNIZE THE PHONE AND ITS GPS AFTER EVERY UPDATE?   And when will the next update occur, so maybe this now almost fatal issue gets resolved?

I have an HTC 10.

I have plenty of friends and family with Apple watches, and other fitness watches, who don't have this kind of chronic issue.

Your phone is not in the list of compatible devices, so not all features may work. I can't say whether this is an app issue or a tracker issue. Have you tried  clearing the cache in the app?

I have had my phone for over a year.  This problem was rare until fairly recently; now it is the norm.  I am going to try clearing cache; if that doesn't work I will uninstall and reinstall.

I accidentally marked the previous post as a solution.  It wasn't.  It failed to address my issue.  I am now even more convinced the issue was caused by yet another "update" to the app.  I realized i also had not been getting notifications for texts and calls.  So I looked at the settings.  At some point, a number of my settings had been changed.  Notifications service had been turned off.  My default messaging program had been changed to the messenger service on Facebook,  which I try to never use.  Phone notifications were turned off.  When i configured the updatdd tyo conform to my previous settings, communication appears to be reestablished.

So, Fitbit, stop pushing updates tggat change settings!  You are not alone in this practice, of course, but I am inclined to stop usingb zznh product of app th at messes with my settings.

As I note below, I inadvertently marked this as a solution.  I don't know how to undo this.

I undid that for you. Glad it is working again. And yes, I hate when app updates change your settings on you. Facebook is notorious for it.
