Nothing but issues with new Blaze .. HELP!

Just purchased a FitBit Blaze to replace my dead Microsoft Band, but I'm starting to wish I'd just bought another one of those instead. Hopefully I'm just doing something wrong here, but I figured I would ask the community for input/advice .. here goes!

1. After many trials and tribulations, I FINALLY got this thing to sync with my Windows Phone. Yes, I know I said Windows Phone lol but I work for Microsoft so I eat the dogfood. Anyway, it seems that ever since I've connected to my device, the clock face never goes away. I mean never. It's not like it comes and goes, it's there all the time and I'm obviously getting less than a day of battery now. Pushing buttons, tapping, pray for death, nothing makes it go away.

2. Notifications aren't working, neither is the music control .. is this due to Windows Phone? I was running the 950XL but I'm on the HP X3 at the moment, but nada. For the music portion, I'm using Groove (again stop with the giggles you heartless creatures lol) does it only support iTunes?

I really want to like this thing, and I've got a new frame, band and screen protector on order so I really don't want to return it, but no basic functionality and a battery life of less than a day just won't cut it. I knew I was stepping down from the Band, but I might as well have a sundial on my wrist at this point.

Thanks for you help, feel free to go back to giggling now over Windows Phone and Groove. 😃

Hello @SelfishCaesar as for the clock display,  it should turn off after 10 seconds, i would try a restart by holding in both the left and lower right buttons for 12 seconds.

As for notifications yes it is because you have a windiws phone. It waa only this year tyat the required GATT server was added. You can read more in the widows forum. My understanding is the, now closed, beta testing is winding up and notifacations along with the connected GPS will be added soon.

Thanks for the information Rich! I did the clock face went away after 10 seconds the first few times, but then I couldn't get it to come back. Tapping, pressing the left button or the other right buttons still left the screen black until at one point it popped back up, and now won't go away again! 😃 Holding either of the right buttons does activate either notifications or music control, but the left button seems to do nothing. When I first purchased a few days ago, I did have to charge it and complete a lengthy update, which was reportedly successful. Colour me stumped!
