@WendyB , they don’t even last till the warranty period is up from the sound of it.  Seems more than a coincidence that so many are having the exact same issues at around the same time.  They are all different ages, some under a year.  Mine was 18 months old.  For the price I paid, it should have lasted longer.

I’m done with Fitbit.

A lot comes into play. How well it's taken care. How it's being charged. There is a right and wrong way to charge

Actually it's going on 4 years. Gave it to a friend who has been using it for a year now

Exactly my case and my feeling.

Understandable that a battery won't last for ever but one and a half years is too short a period for battery life. And to make it a double whammy, it seems that you cant get the battery replaced. This is not fair. One expects better performance from an expensive device.

You are right. Nothing would last for ever. But having said that, everything has an expected normal life. A durable can not behave like a consumable.

Kindly do not assume that other users to not know how to take care of the battery. Everyone has been using rechargeable batteries for decades now and most comments are prompted by a below par performance of the Fitbit batteries.

The discussion is about a sudden degradation in the product quality shipped by Fitbit.
