Original Face Progress Circle?

On a run earlier it appeared that the color of the progress circle was different in the newest segments compared to older.  When I met my daily goal, the entire ring was the same blue.  Perhaps I was seeing things or it was just the angle.  Anyone else notice this?  Does it signify any metric?

You weren't imagining it but I don't believe it signifies anything other than progress. The actual amount of progress is indicated by the filled portion of the circle in any case so I've always assumed that the slight colouration is simply there to add some decoration and maybe a touch of encouragement to the display..
