Pain in arm and shoulder?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a Blaze, and have been wearing 24/7 since December.  I have increasing pain in my left arm (bicep) and shoulder. Hurts to raise up

over my head, and to lift or grab anything.  I've read many posts about the HR. Is anyone experiencing issues with the Blaze?

I'm not sure either. I tried switching to my right arm too. It was better
but I hated looking on that side and kept lifting my left arm still! Lol

If it is, after this fitbit dies, I will try it.

Yes I know what you mean and it's hard to get on my right wrist. I think it
might be a bit of carpal tunnel too.

I thought it was just me but now that I see so many experiencing same thing I see it’s real. If I get pain and remove my “3” it stops. One day it was truly excruciating. Forgot it could be my Fitbit till later. Once I remembered took it off and after a bit no pain. 🤔

I really am glad to know it not just me. It is sad that this happens though. I really love my Fitbit. I find myself not wearing it at all now. Money down the drain and no tracked data😥

I am still wearing my vera light on my right arm. My left arm still needs
attention it feels better when heat is applied, heating pad, on wrist, and
then I move it up to the shoulder. Also I have have been doing exercises
for carpal tunnel, seems to be better, and I take an aspirin before bed
time. There's all sorts of different websites to get information from. I
am aware of people way I handle my cellphone too. The aching arm is doing
a lot better. Maybe it's too much of electronics in my life. Addiction I
am not going to get rid of. Keep me posted.

Wear your Fitbit on your other arm for a while, I too love my Fitbit, I
quit wearing it to bed, and I doing exercises for carpel tunnel. Applying
heat seems to help, don't give up, your cellphone might also be part of the
problem.

Me too. I only wear daylight hours. A lot better there's an obvious
connection. Bluetooth, EMF or something like that.

I have changed the arm that I wear it on from left to right. Quit wearing
at night few months ago, but I also realized that I use my left to hold my
cellphone. Researched carpel tunnel and the symptoms are the same as what I
have been experiencing. I have been doing exercises for carpel tunnel and
it seems to be working. I'm going keep it up for awhile.

It's a mystery I changed the arm I am wearing it on, also checked about
cellphone use as I use my cellphone a lot. May have carpal tunnel, if it
gets too bad it goes up your arm to your shoulder, for me this going on
February and is getting worse. I have been doing stretches for C. T. and
not wearing it at night. Shoulder still is getting better along with my
wrist, the aching at night has slowed down too. Applying heat helps too.

I wore a Fitbit blaze for 2 years on right wrist.  I noticed slight wrist irritation when perspiration was present.

At the end of 2019 my Blaze would not maintain a charge so I ordered a Versa 2 as a back up.

After wearing daily for a month, my wrist and hand started hurting.  I was reviewing exercise routines, yard work and etc.  and then wondered if it was the Versa.  So I swapped to left wrist for a week.

I swapped back to right wrist for better tracking and within 2 days I started having sharp pains in my shoulder and had trouble raising arm. I wondered if I strained shoulder exercising.  Then 2 weeks ago the pain migrated to firearm and bicep.

The pain was so bad, I went to doctor.  He checked range and strength and said I did not need MRI, to take ibuprofen for a week.  I tried applying topical therapies for 3 days and only wore Versa 2 during the day.  After wearing it yesterday and the pain increasing, I know it is the Versa 2 causing the tingling in my hands and the severe arm pain.

To avoid causing future issues, I will locate my old Copper Fit  wrist band for future step & pulse rate tracking and manually input the details daily.

Find some exercises for carpal tunnel, this has helped me, apply heat on
your arm, I use a heating pad. I have been using arnica cream, I get it
from natural food, whole foods and the co-ops have it, they also have the
remedy in pill for. I also have a stand for my cellphone. My shoulder
feels better than it has for months, one thing I have been sleeping on my
back, not my side. I have gotten most of this information for the internet,
Google is great. I am wearing my Fitbit on my right arm. Good luck.

Is anyone’s pain gone? I just had a revelation this morning. I’ve been wearing my Versa 24/7 on my left arm since Christmas and a few months later in my left arm if hurts so bad in my bicep area. It hurts to lift my left arm, to pick things up that are above shoulder height. I just realized this pain came after wearing the fit bit for so long. I also went to the doctor. I’m going to stop wearing my versa. Maybe it’s too much radiation or whatever for long term use. Is anyone recovering after stop using????

Do use your left hand for the cellphone, if so that can make it worse, I
was leaning on elbow and holding my cellphone in my left hand. Not good, I
don't sleep with my vera, and am wearing on right wrist now. That helps a
lot. I checked out carpel tunnel synonym. I have been doing exercises for
this condition, put a heat on arm for about an hour at night. I started
sleeping on my back, no side sleeping. My left arm has improved along with
the shoulder. I am going to check yoga for carpal tunnel. That is my
story, a month ago I was in aching pain.

I responded to this thread, several years ago. Since then, the cause and
solution have dawned on me. Most of us probably have an underlying
condition, exacerbated by the tendency to sharply flick the wrist to view
the time. My pain arose after a fall on a rock, while hiking around the
same time I bought Fitbit Blaze. I did notice that gently twisting the
wrist for Fitbit viewing helped considerably.

The better solution is to fix the cause. Go to
https://www.summitmedicalgroup.com/library/adult_health/sma_rotator_cuff_injury_exercises/.
Look at 'Side-lying external rotation' and accompanying images in the
second set. Eventually, using a 5 lb dumbbell fixed the problem for me.

Thanks for the side lying details for bent arm lateral raises. Lateral raises were a part of my normal upper body routine until the shoulder, forearm, and elbow and bicep pain started. Since I stopped wearing the Versa, the shoulder pain and bicep pain are better but forearm and elbow are still hurting and hand still tingling.

Regarding viewing Fitbit devices, I have never flicked wrist to activate, I have always pressed the side button if face did not light up
when viewing face of device.

My arm pain is more severe in full extension/ reaching movement. Pushing or pulling anything with right arm is very painful.

I do daily arm massage to address pain and inflammation and slow tricep kickbacks without weight.

Until arm is better, I can not do my yoga or upper body routines.

I will call to see if I can get the battery repacked in my Blaze, because my arm pain started after using the Fitbit Versa. Mild pain started when I swapped device to left arm.

I only had a few mild wrist irritations over 2 1/2 years of wearing my Blaze.

No amount of tracking is worth this level of pain I am contributing to the Versa 2.

I will try the side lying exercise as explained in link
And advise if it helps.

Yes I realized that I use my left arm to read my cellphone, put my versa
on my right, quit wearing it at night. Started to put my cellphone in a
rack for the phone. Am doing exercises for carpel tunnel. Heat on the arm
at night, the pain is going away too. It's a process. Thanks for the update
seems we are doing things for the problem.
