You could log the time as walking.
The steps incurred skills waving your arm is normal, the Blaze is on the arm and looks for arm motions that make it think that the person is walking. Since it is mounted on the arm it can't see what the get are doing, so it looks for the asthma response to the feet walking.

I have been having some serious problems with my Blaze. My wife has a Surge and when we go walking our steps are almost identical. When I am wearing the Blaze everything is great, number of steps make sense, heart rate is pretty accurate and I have had no problems with the exercise modes either. The problem comes in when I am not wearing my Blaze at all. The other day I forgot to put it back on after a shower in the morning and by the time I got home from work I had around 12000 steps. I called fitbit and was told to reset it and to check the number of steps that I take vs. the number of steps that it counts, and it is accurate. I then did a science experiment and left it off an entire day and got almost 15000 steps. Today I didn't wear it, it was on the charger all day and I am currently at almost 12000 steps. Fitbit customer support told me "if someone picks it up and moves it it will count steps" in a weak attempt to explain more than TEN THOUSAND untaken steps. It wasn't moved...science experiment. Thanks Fitbit for not even listening to the words I was saying. Then I emailed two different people at Fitbit and am still waiting for a response.

When the Blaze was poor down, what was our placed on? Yup I forgot once, the Blaze was sorting on the clothes dryer and yes the vibrations game me a lot of steps.
I've also had the mobile tracking on the phone give me an extra 100k+ on a few minutes.

"I've also had the mobile tracking on the phone give me an extra 100k+ on a few minutes."
When I wasn't wearing my Blaze it was on a table on a concrete floor so it wasn't picking up any extra steps there and I thought there was a serious problem. However I think the later part of your answer helped me out a lot. The mobile tracking on my phone would explain it pretty well. I remember before I got my Blaze that I was still able to track my steps and exercise through my phone and the Fitbit app. likely that is what is giving me the steps when I am not wearing the Blaze itself. Thank you Rich for your input and setting my mind at ease. That is the only problem Iwas having and I think that this is a great little device.

I'm not so sure about that @VansHoll how restless a allele are you, and how often to you get up, or just simply toss around?
