Are you refferring to quickview @zgercik.
Make sure that your arm is close to horizontal with the earth before totating the wrist 90°
When it comes to turning it on by touching, to me it seems to respond to a double tap. This makes me think the Blaze is looking at the xyz sensors and not the screen for the display to be turned on.

As mentioned by our friend, please verify that the quick view option is on. You can do this by swiping to settings and in the quick view option check that it is on. If it is on and still without working, you can restart your tracker.
