Random Elliptical tracking

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

For the last few days my Fitbit randomly keeps telling me I've don't "elliptical" training but isn't picking up my exercise.

I did Zumba tonight and it normally auto recognises it every week as a workout but nothing!

Hi, @Raych84, if you don't normally use an elliptical machine you can turn this off activity so it doesn't pick up "random" sessions.  Instructions here.

Also, if your Fitbit is not behaving as expected (or as usual, in your case), it is a good idea to give it a restart.  You are usually advised to repeat this procedure two or three times, as sometimes the Fitbit doesn't always restart.

In most cases this solves the issue and everything will be back to normal.

If you would like a record of tonight's Zumba session that didn't count, you can create a manual log.  You can also rename / recategorize any activity autmoatically tracked by  SmartTrack if you feel the data is mostly correct but it just got the activity wrong.

I hope this helps.  Welcome to the Community!

Thankyou, I just find it odd that I don't even know what elliptical exercise is..... it's counted it in my sleep too!

Hopefully the reset will get the auto recognition back on, I know how to add manually and rename as I usually have to change a workout to Zumba!

I'm also intrigued how my help query has attached to my sons account - but that's a whole new story 🙈

@Raych84 on an Elyptical your arms move forward and backwards, but the body stays ratify stationary.

If it was me, I'd use the manual workout t mode then reliable it to Zuma after a sync.
