Devices: Android phone (Motorola Turbo 2.) I'm running Marshmallow. FitBit device is the Blaze.

Problem: My Blaze will sync with the phone but won't play music.

Troublsehooting performed so far: I've followed the help instructions to a T. tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, turning off both devices (phone and FitBit) and restarting, turning Bluetooth off and on.

Finally I gave up and removed Blaze from the list of Bluetooth devices by selecting 'forget' on my phone. After this the Blaze won't pair at all - keeps telling me that I have an incorrect passkey or PIN.

Any ideas? Syncs fine with the app for tracking details.

A couple thoughts, before the Blaze can control the music, the music player has to have been started and is playing music.

Did you tell the phone to forget the Blaze Classic?

When reconnecting you should see a number on both the phone and Blaze, along with a yes to press on both screens. I generally press the yes on the Blaze first,

Welcome to the Community @Cheri1957! On Fitbit Blaze and Fitbit Surge you can pause and resume music that is playing on your mobile device. To determine whether your device supports this feature, go tohttp://www.fitbit.com/devices.

Note the following information about music control.

  • Fitbit trackers use the AVRCP Bluetooth profile. If your music streaming app doesn't support AVRCP, music control won't work with your Fitbit tracker.
  • If a compatible music streaming app doesn't broadcast track information, song titles won’t appear on your tracker's screen. However if the music app supports AVRCP, you'll still be able to pause and skip songs even when you can’t see the title.
  • Fitbit Blaze™ is compatible with Windows mobile devices for music control but Fitbit Surge™ is not. Note that song titles never appear if you’re using a Windows mobile device.

  1. On your Fitbit Blaze:
    1. Swipe to Settings.
    2. Scroll to Bluetooth Classic.
    3. Tap the Bluetooth Classic option until the setting is Pair.
  2. On your mobile device:
    1. Navigate to the Bluetooth Setting screen where paired devices are listed. Your mobile device should be scanning for devices.
    2. When “Blaze Classic” is shown as an available device, select it.
    3. Wait for a message displaying a six-digit number.
  3. Perform the following two steps in close succession:
    1. When the same six-digit number appears on your Blaze, tap “Yes” on your tracker.
    2. On your mobile device, select Pair.

Hope this helps!

@Cheri1957 the Blaze is a remote control for the music player on the phone, not a speaker. So yes the music is not suppose to be coming out of the Blaze.

That worked perfectly.  It was the last steel throwing us off.  Thank you!

I have tried everything mentioned.  I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Spotify Premium.  I have tried to pair with Bluetooth and even though the app seems to be syncing fine with my Blaze for everything else, it is not working for music.  I don' know what else to try.
