The reminders to move feature nudges you to walk at least 250 steps each hour. If you haven't walked 250 steps, at 10 minutes before the hour you'll feel a vibration and see a reminder on your tracker. You can select between 5 to 14 consecutive hours in the day, and you can also select the days you would like to receive reminders to move.

You can view your hourly activity progress on your Blaze by going into the "Today" app and scrolling down. Here's a few examples of how it will appear on your device (the left image shows different variations, these do not all show at once):

Note: It will show the amount of steps you have for the current hour (138 steps this hour) until you hit 250 steps, in which case, it will then switch to how many hours you've completed your 250 steps (e.g. 8/9 hours). If you've achieved the 250 steps for every single hour, then it will switch to the green "9/9 hours".

It is very nice..Lin theory. The notification buzz is so weak, I don't even notice. I noticed it only once, when I waited for it, concentrated on the notification. Generally I am deep in work, discussion and the notification, both the buzz and the one minute message, just goes unnoticed.

In this form, this feature is totally useless.

I got the update yesterday. I can't feel the reminder to move at all.  It is much fainter than alarms.  That is I am assuming that is the issue because I don't feel anything at all.  In fact, alarms seem fainter than they were before this update.  (And, yes, I have double checked that all reminders and alarms are synced).  I am so disappointed because I need to feel the reminder.

I got the update this morning and I'm loving it!!!   From a computer, viewing the dashboard or log, I clicked on the gear icon in the top right of the screen. Then I clicked on Settings, then devices, then Blaze.  On the screen, you will see a "Reminders to Move" section that states: "During the time window selected, you’ll get a reminder 10 minutes before the hour when you haven't reached 250 steps."

You click the edit pencil next to Reminder times, and choose which hours you would like the reminder.  Note that these are on the whole hour, and there is no option for half hours.

The rest of that screen has other updated features like Daily Goal Progress and new clock faces.  🙂

Hope that helps.

I have to agree with several users that stated never felt move notification and at this point not impressed with this at all.  The alarm needs to be way louder or vibrations better, never felt it or heard it.  I waited to see what would happen so of course now that hours doesn't have step goal met 😞

Reminder vibration on blaze not strong enough. Never felt it at all today. I received the update last night.

I agree, tho its a question about momentum given by a weight of the blumb. However i do wish the vibration could last like 10 secounds or so.

Can we adjust the # of steps from 250 to for example 500? Can we set it to remind us at different times, for example 15 minutes before end of hour? If not, can this be a recommendation for future updates. Thanks!

All right.  The reminder to move notification is officially terrible.  I finally felt one when I was literally looking at the screen waiting for it to happen.  I compared to then an alarm I set.

The reminder to move buzz is about 1/3 as strong as that on the alarm (and, honestly, the alarm notifications aren't that strong -- I've slept through it more than once which I never did on my ChargeHR).

Even worse, there is just one faint buzz.  The alarm buzzes are, I think, 3 short buzzes.  And, if you don't clear it then it buzzes again 9 minutes later.

Basically if I am doing anything (like typing at my desk as I am doing now), I don't notice the reminder to move buzz at all.  It is just too faint.

I am honestly considering other models at this time.  I know the Alta, Flex2 and ChargeHR2 have reminder to move.  Is the buzz better with any of those models?  If so, I might buy one to solely wear on my other arms just to get the reminders.

Failing that I'm seriously considering looking at other alternatives from other manufacturers.  This is a feature I really want (I got my Blaze based upon the representation it would have this).  The faint buzz that it has now is just utterly useless.  I assume this was done to save battery life.  I would rather charge the battery more often.

Either give us the option to set the intensity of the buzz or set this one to at least be equivalent to an alarm buzz.

I am really liking the reminder. Although it is a light buzz, after using it a couple weeks now, it is enough to get my attention and realize that it is the reminder to move. I am guessing that Fitbit was looking for the balance between enough to notice but not so much it is annoying. I would not mind it a bit more but it is working for me. Now for my morning alarm, I usually use my Alta on work nights as I often miss the alarm on my Blaze. I am really enjoying the firmware update though.

Today the reminders stopped working. I turned them off and on again, restarted the Blaze, no effect.

After recharging the battery a bit the reminders work again. Weak battery and they stop working.

That is what is happening to me too.  It is so faint I'm barely feeling it or not feeling it at all.

Yep the reminder vibration is too short.  Would be better if it was like the notice for meeting primary target (e.g. 10,000 step target).  Cool feature, I hope FitBit delivers additional firmware updates.

I've noticed that the reminder buzz is actually on the smart side. I have my hours set to start at 4 AM, because I get up and workout first thing at 4:45. I don't have 250 steps by 4:50, but I've started a treadmill workout on my Blaze and I'm clearly racking up the steps. I do get the buzz congratulating me on taking 250 steps for the hour, which I only get if I'm close to missing the goal. So it doesn't remind me because I'm clearly going to make the goal, but it does congratulate me, because I almost didn't. If I'm sitting on my butt at x:50 and close to missing the goal, I get the reminder, too.

I am so happy to get the Reminder to Move. Just wanted to say I agree with others that the buzz could be a little longer. I don't always notice it. And there have been times when I'm waiting for it to go off and it doesn't.

I love this feature, and it has worked great for me so far. Smiley Happy

I don't seem to have any problems noticing the buzz as it is now, but my normal environment is not super-busy, so I guess that could be one reason why.

@blapath I agree it is very weak, i missed it at the beginning but now I do feel it when it comes, I do feel they can make it a bit stronger.

Would like to know why my Blaze states that I hit the 250 steps in the hour but then did not sync with my activity on my app for that hour. Love that it now has this reminder.
