I run with my android phone and fit bit because I want to record my milage on the GPS, not sure how this works, is it necessary to bring my phone to record the "path" I ran, if not will fitbit update once I get home and refresh phone? Will I see the milage not necessarily the "path" I ran?

Hi @sponta. Good to see you in the Community Forums! 🙂
I can help you with this! When you run using your tracker, you can definitely keep track of your route with a GPS map, now, your tracker works with Connected GPS which means that the tracker itself doesn't have a GPS integrated but will connect to your phone's GPS to give you your GPS route along with your distance and other stats. For this, it's necessary for you to take your phone with you and have the Fitbit app running at least in the background. You can go in your Blaze to the exercise shortcuts, choose Run and then, wait for the tracker to connect to your phone, it will let you know when the connection is successful and then you can start running and at the end, when you finish the activity and sync, it will show the map of your route.
Now, if you don't have your phone with you, the process will be the same, it will just not connect to the GPS on your phone and at the end of the exercise, you will not get a GPS map of your route but only the regular stats as steps, distance, calories burned, active minutes, etc.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other question!

yes it clarifies the issue.
On another note, for the map to record, which usually does and I can see my route, but sometimes it does not do this, am I missing a step once I choose the "finish" button? is there another step to keep the map?

Thanks for getting back @sponta! There's not really any other step to follow. Now, it could be that the GPS signal on your phone or phone reception in general is not strong enough and this could cause the route not to show.
If you're somewhere surrounded by tall buildings or many trees, this could affect the reception on your phone and therefore, affect the GPS map creation.
