I truly like my new phone, but it does not use notifications with Blaze. So sad. It works with all the other Samsung Galaxy phones. The set up was the same and Fitbit has no idea when it will work. So bummed by this. At least with my purchase of the phone I get a free S2. I may be swiitching out and selling my Blaze when it arriives. Any techie out there have an answer for me.

I also have the Galaxy S7 Edge and I have had no problems with notifications or music control. Didnt do anything special to set it up and it has owrked better than when I was using the Note 5. The only thing I have noticed is a couple times, the notifcation swhere turned off on the device itself. When I swipe down and hit "On" they work again.

I did get it working after re-doing the set up. However, I used to be able to read my texts. Now I just get a notification. I have my phone set at message+. Wish I could read the messages.

@mdaley01 Try changing to "Message" and not "Message+". People have said to use that and you should be able to read the actual text message.

Also take a look at this post. You meed to have the message app push the notices to the lock screen. The link provided explains how to set it up, and explains that with one unread message, the body can be read, but with more than one, you will just see a message count and the senders names. Unfortunately this is something Fi5but has no control of, in that it is the wa6 Andriod works. I don't know if it is possible on android f9r Fitbit to mark a message as read. Thinking about it, wpuld ypu mark it as read, after the message is pursued to the watch, or after the display turns on so it can be read?
This has been some ponderings of mind with to much free time.

I tried that. When I set to messages, I don't even get a notification.

I did a chat with Support. They are working on compatibility with the S&. They said it took 1.5 months roughly to get the s6 six to work. Hopefully it will be done in the next couple of weeks.

I have a samsung galaxy edge 7 working with my Blaze after much tweeking. The only problem I am having is when someone sends me more than one text immediately after the first text, the notifications show "2 messages" or however many messages they texted. The content of each text does not show up even when I scroll up. Has anyone else experienced this issue and does anyone have a resolution to this issue? I do not have this issue when only one text is sent at a time and not too close together in time.

@gerger it sounds like you might be using the default Android Messaging App, if this is correct then you are seeing exactly what you should be, this is the way it works.
If you change to the Google Messanger or one of the other ones you should be good

I also have the Blaze and recently upgraded to the S7 Edge. Everything worked fine for a few weeks, notifications, sync, music control etc. but after I got it to sync on Wednesday now it won't sync anymore and nothing works. I've tried all the troubleshooting steps, reinstalling the app, restarting the fitbit, etc. nothing has fixed it. I'm really bummed because if I just wanted to keep track of my steps and sync it with a computer then I wouldn't have paid $200 for a smartwatch that is supposed to get notifications and control my music and GPS! I can't believe it's taking this long to get it to work with one of the most popular new phones. It seems like the next Samsung Galaxy phone could come out before they get it to work with this one! I I had a Charge HR before this and used to sing Fitbit's praises but this is so disappointing! I'm considering returning my Blaze. In a tech world where 1 year old technology is "outdated", it can't take over 6 months to get things to work!

@Rich_Laue Like you I don't have much free time, however on my day job I work with a lot of companies that need our help fixing Android and Linux issues. For example say a customer's engineering team is using Android inside a bar code reader, and can't get Bluetooth module working, thats where we come in and fix it. Anyways, I've got an Android tablet to play around with so I'm familiar with app development, but otherwise don't use the platform.
While looking up a technical detail today, I came across this:
Source: https://material.google.com/patterns/notifications.html#notifications-content
Handset on left, wearable on right. You can see that its Google's intent that you can expand the summary, on both handsets and wearables.
So "the way Android works" (or suppose to work) is that the wearable can expand summaries and see individual messages.

Hi, I just got my Blaze yesterday I have an S7. I had the same problem but I downloaded the app Fit Notifications. It's just a step by step guide to help you to check your settings. Took a little bit of messing about with and syncing a lot but it works!!!
