Screen protector?

Hi everyone!  I made the decision to upgrade from the Charge HR to the Blaze, and it should be waiting for me when I get home today - I'm very excited!

Do any of you use a screen protector, or not use one and have scratches on the watch face?  I know it's made of Gorilla Glass, so it should be pretty scratch-resistant.  I'm just wondering what peoples' experiences have been.

Thanks!

Gorilla Glass 3? I dont think so. I sustained a scratch on my Blaze screen that shouldn't be there. I moderately hit the watchface on a door and now I have a scratch. I don't know how that happens on Gorilla Glass.

I was told that ScreenKnight do some amazing protectors for the Fitbit Blaze. Apparently they are £2.99 on eBay, well worth it!

I bought one off of amazon because my Charge was scratched up within the first week of having it. I didn't want to take any chances with my Blaze.

I bought a screen protector from Amazon  (D-Flector) but once I received it I was afraid to use it because the application process entailed wetting the screen protector in a bowl of water and soap solution and then applying it to the screen.  Then the instructions say "use the squeegee provided to push the excess liquid and bubbles under the film away from buttons, speakes and open ports"  Since the Blaze is not water proof I decided not to risk applying the screen protector.  I would like fitbit to comment on the likelihood of damage if applying this type of screen protector.

Everyone who had concerns....

First, I do NOT work for an amazon vendor..I don't care which one you buy or where you buy it.  the Bayites pack of 2 or now 3 are on sale for$7.45...i paid 8.99.  they install in 5 seconds and the corners are beveled, i cant even tell it's there until now.

but BOY am i glad that I put one on last week!  Today I  was scrubbing out my fridge (a fun day off), it is one of those jobs where you take everything out, scrub the glass and remove the glass insert to get the sticky drips that soaked in between, acrylic bins, glass shelves etc....the glass is sharp on the fitted insert and i must have knocked my Blaze against  on of the shelves i was scrubbing or fitting it back...My screen protector has a nice big ding on the top...but it is the SCREEN PROTECTOR, not the Blaze....easily fixed by replacing it...i now have a tiny chip in the tempered glass protector and a bubble just starting.  If i did not have it, this could have been the Blaze itself which is just under a month old.

i hope that this helps someone. thanks for reading.

Those little thin plastic screen protectors only offer not much protection since they are unable to distribute a blow from a sharp object. You really would want a tempered glass shield that will crack apon impact to absorb the blow. These glass shield also have a lifetime warranty, and will be replace when damaged. Most will also replace the device ofif it too gets damaged

I don't even use a screen protector (nor a case) on a phone.

Having one on the Blaze seems pointless to me.

It is a tempered glass screen protector, not plastic. They come in a set of 2 or 3.

Teading the Q&A i dont see anything unorthical. This the commin way to attach a peice of glass without glue. The thin film of water povides the adhesion, its the way most of the phone protectors are applied.
After a year my surge screen still looks brand new.

Just FYI, I've been through quite a few screen protectors, I'm very active, and have found that the tempered glass ones have a major fault.  They are above the band frame that holds the Blaze exposing the edge of the glass that sits on top of the Blaze and if you hit the edge it shatters the protector.  It would be nice if, one, the Blaze was protected better by the band frame Blasé holder or was recessed into the Blaze case in someway to protect the edge of the tempered glass sheet.  A direct hit on the surface usually has no affect it and protects well preventing any damage to the Blaze face.

I think having screen protectors for fitbits is a bit much... If you've ever worn a wristwatch like a Michael Kors or a Fossil or a Nautical or a [insert your favorite watch brand], you'll know that they don't even make screen protectors for watches (at least the didn't used to). I wear watches everyday and don't typically scratch or scuff up my watches even when I'm doing hands on tasks. If you're not used to wearing watches I could see it being nice until you get used to wearing it and being conscientious of it.

That is what I've been looking for I like the stainless steel band but it doesn't protect the glass protector screen at the edges, Mahalo
