I guess others may have different opinions but my experience to date with the Blaze is:

1) I find the wristband more comfortable and especially when I use the steel band (although it is very expensive for what it is)

2) The screen cannot fall out when you are wearing it as it only comes out one way (towards the wrist).

3) might be too early to say but it is gorilla glass so should be resilient. Not a mark on mine so far.

4) taking the screen out is very easy and requires little force. Getting it back in takes a bit of getting used to but there's a reassuring click when you get it right.

@Swansis echoing @SteveH, comfier than the ChargeHR, esp with the metal band. It's not going to fall out while wearing it and no scratches so far (and hopefully never, as it's GG3. Popping out the unit is easy enough - I do it daily to switch between metal and original band when training. A bit fiddly getting back in but not a problem.

I would not buy Blaze.   I have one,  Bought it because I have Fitbit stock and wanted to support company.  Here are problems:  Band is cheap, although it is better than my Charge.  It counts steps while I am on a golf cart.   This morning I was up steps 7 times, did not count.   Charging is cumbersome.   I really wish I woul have purchased Apple watch.

I think it's a bit strong to quote one persons opinion as "problems" particularly as you're not actually answering any of the questions asked. As an example, I'd suggest to you that of course it will log steps on a golf cart if the cart is being driven over bumpy ground (for example). It's not a problem so much as a simple by-product of the thing doing what it's been designed to in a difficult environment. It may be annoying but it's hardly a "problem" (in my opinion, obviously).

@SteveH answered perfectly. Aside from that, if you are worried about the screen, you can easily buy any screen protector for a phone or tablet or anything and cut it to size. There are no buttons or holes that need to be uncovered. There seems to be a small sensor on the upper left hand side, but I notice no difference when a screen protector over it. I assume this is how it senses when you look at the watch.

If you look on eBay and I am sure amazon, they sell cheap screen protectors cut to size already. $2 for like 6.

  1. Is the wriststrap as comfy as the Charge HR?   I did not have the Charge HR, but I find it to be fine.
  2. Is it possible for the screen to fall out the casing easily?  Not at all.
  3. How easy does the screen get scratched? Has not happened to me, screen protectors are out there.
  4. Is taking out the screen easy?  Yes.

Sure, apple watch is nice, but its only for apple.. And can cost 3 times more. Besides.. Who knows what issues that junk has? (calling it junk is my opinion, because I do not like Apple.)

I'm not an Apple fan but will not call them junk, but if I read the customer reviews on the AW, I see complaints about missing steps, excess steps in cars, while typing etc. Yes this is common to all step conters/activity monitors on the matket. Complaints about it not working with older Apple phones. Activity tracking on the AW is a secondary function, and monitored by an app.

My experience with the Blaze.

Occasionally I need to restart.

It took a week for me to get settings correct for messages to work, So for many feel Google Messenger works best for Blaze notifacation, but not great to use on the phone. I barely notice it, same with the Charge HR.

I find it also as accurate as the Surge, Charge HR, Charge, and within 5 steps of the Fitbit One while on walks.

BTW I get 4-5 days of battery, but am going to start charging 15-20 minutes every 3-4 days, this was more than adequate for the Surge.

If you want to get a screen protector, spend the extra money on a tempared glass protector, they come with a lifetime free replacement. The plastic films don't help with a sharp blow, the glass ones will spread the impact out as they shatter.

I find the Blaze more comfortable to wear than the Charge HR.  I really like it and enjoy being able to see the nice colour screen.  I really like the today app how it can scroll and quickly see your stats.  If I am doing a walk or something where I am not using exercise mode, I leave it on the today app and whenever I check quickview, I can see right away the stats I want to see without having to tap for the different options.  Kind of neat to see my text messages and calendar reminders as well.  Really enjoying it.

2. No it only comes out one way which is toward your wrist

3. Got a scratch on mine the very first day... While unloading groceries from my car 😞

4. Very easy, comes out with one firm push

I would agree too early to purchase Blaze. I don't feel the band is cheap. It's a sports grade band. I was looking for a smart fitness counter and the features deliver HOWEVER I have had a consistent issue with it freezing and NOT counting steps - I've called IT twice. Reset... Also it appears most on the forum have the same experience with battery life- 5 days is perhaps only in their development lab- I get about 2 1/2 days and according to this forum that's a constant. I LOVE this product but the first edition needs improvement.

I upgraded from Charge to Charge HR to Blaze. I have Blaze for only one week, HR for 1 month, charge for 10 months.

Compare $ to $, I would go for Blaze. HR is over priced in such a comparison, and the battery life of HR sucks big time.

1. It is actually very comfortable. But I am waiting for my 3rd-party milanese loop band to make my life easier.

2. Unless there is a quality issue, no way.

3. I have heard someone complain screen scratch. Garilla glass is still glass.

4. I hate this part of Blaze. It isn't hard to take it out. But this inevitably introduces the possibility of dropping it. If there is a 3rd-party charger can charge the watch without taking out the core, I would definitely buy it. As for now, I just ordered a second charging cable, and plan to hack one for myself.

I bought Charge HR, Blaze and alta for my family, and I am using Blaze.

1. The blaze is very confortable and cool.

2. No. The watch connects the band very tightly.

3. Though it is Garilla glass, I still bought tempered glass from third party. It fits the screen perfectly, so no worry about the screen scratch.

4. If you tried to take off the wathch several times, you will get used to it.
