My Husband recently upgraded to the Fitbit Blaze this weekend. Every day so far it has showed him burning 3,700 Calories a day. He has a desk job and has not been to the gym yet since he has gotten the fitbit. For example, Yesterday he only walked 7,273 steps and it was showing 3,700 calories burned by 5:00PM how is this possible. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

Hi, @Jwood22, for most people the majority of calories burned are BMR calories -- calories a body burns just by staying alive and running bodily processes.  You burn BMR calories whether or not you go to the gym.

These calories are calculated based on age, gender, height and weight.  If your husband's calorie burn seems unusually high, it would be a good idea to check his profile information, including units.  Make sure, for example, if he has entered his weight in pounds, that lbs are selected as the correct unit (no kgs).  Also check height.

If your husband is showing substantial periods of elevated heart rate that will also boost the calorie burn calculation.
