Sleep stages not working on Blaze

I have the most up to date app and my iphone is up to date as well. Yesterday, my sleep stages tracked, but last night it did not. I've restared the Fitbit, the phone, installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled. Nothing worked. Any idea how to fix?

Just installed the latest update so I know it is up to date . None of the updates or bug fixes say anything about sleep stages but let's see .

Hi everyone -- The Fitbit for iOS app version 2.37 has been released. For all you Blaze users who are on iOS devices, please make sure to update the app! As mentioned, all Android, Windows, and iOS users will now receive in-app error notifications if you did not receive Sleep Stages on any given night.

Thanks that's great but what about Alta HR users ?

Best Answer

Yep what about the Alta hr??? Sleep stages had the odd blip ... since the update this week I've had simplified sleep stages and even complete gaps in my sleep data. I'm not sleeping any differently, battery is charged, Alta is on the same place on my wrist. What's going on Fitbit???

I updated to the latest app for Android version 2.52, and the stages do not
record.

@Timgilp @Debsroo The update I am referring to is in the Fitbit app, not a tracker firmware update. In the most recent Fitbit app update, there are now in-app notifications explaining why you didn't receive Sleep Stages. If you both aren't receiving your Sleep Stages and own Alta HR's, I would make sure that you have updated the Fitbit app first. Then, make sure you are reviewing our troubleshoots here

@1952 Thanks for letting me know you've updated the Fitbit app. If you're not receiving your Sleep Stages, which in-app message are you receiving that explains why? There are many factors to consider in order to receive Sleep Stages. Please review that article and let me know if you still have questions.

My app worked until July 8. For the last three nights it didn't provide info on sleep stages, only duration and time awake. I am not doing anything differently. Everything is up to date? What happened?

My tracker says it couldn't get a consistent heart rate while I slept, but I am not doing anything differently.

Neither do I.  I have everything set up exactly as specified but sleep stages have worked only once, and that was a couple weeks ago.

I've given up trying to get it to work.  It would be a nice feature to have, but it's just not worth the frustration.

Me neither. No error messages at all. Why have it if it doesn't work ?

I don't use apps, I don't use my phone, don't intend to.  I sync blaze with my computer which is using  Microsoft Windows 10.  So how and when will this problem with inconsistent sleep stages graph be fixed?  I get sleep stages for a few nights, then I get this screen with blue background and lines on it....otherwise not useful at all for reading sleep stages.  This has been an off and on problem since your sleep stages started showing up.  It will be good when you get your systems bugs worked out and the appropriate fixes done.

I use a windows based computer.  I did not get notification of anything needing updated.  I get sleep stages off and on.  Last night nothing but a blue screen with up and down strips on it, no graph showing sleep stages like I have been getting "most" of the time.  The glitch is off and on.  Maybe 2 nights not graph of sleep stages, then for several nights there it is, beautiful sleep stage graph to show my doctor.  Last night graphs doesn't show, this is 7/11/17.  I do hope you get your bugs worked out so it is consistent.  this is being monitored for medical reasons and has been VERY useful when it works.  Oh and I have the latest firmware 17.8.401.3.  I do not use my cell phone with this and do not intend to.  The only thing I use is the computer, I have a Blaze and for the most part am very happy with it.

We are all having similar problems. This must be really difficult ( to be fair ) to Fitbit . Mine works perfectly sometimes but others is hit and miss but my wife has an Alta hr too and has had no problems. I'm going to swap with her again and see what happens. Last time mine worked fine on her and synched ok to my phone ?!

My sleep tracking stopped working after this last update in the fitbit app???  Help please.

Hi all!

i had the exact same problem with my brand new Charge 2! Day 3 started with the issue. With a little help from Fitbit Support on twitter it's been fixed. All you should need to do is restart your Fitbit. The article below tells you how to do so. Restarting won't wipe your activity for the day or anything so not to worry. I restarted it yesterday afternoon and it tracked my sleep stages just fine again last night. Hope that helps everyone! http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186

Must admit I have had that advice before and it didn't work ! Last night I had sleep pattern but not stages but it did get how long I was asleep for pretty accurately. I will move the Fitbit above my wrist bone as it suggests in the guidance. See how that works .

I'm kinda disappointed. I JUST bought a fitbit Charge 2 for the SOLE PURPOSE of tracking my sleep stages. I have narcolepsy and wanted to see my sleep pattern. Now I find out that I've wasted my money on something that doesn't work as advertised on your site. Also I didn't get ANY error message when it didn't track the rem cycles
