Sleep stages reverted back to basic

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My sleep stages have reverted back to basic. I saw that there was an issue on 2/15/18 and it says the issue has been resolved. Mine hasn't and it's been very frustrating! I have the Blaze and had this same issue in December but it resolved after posting and getting a response from Fitbit moderators. I'm hoping the same thing happens again!

If you found a way to change the sleep sensitivity, your doing better than I am. I don't understand how you changed bands? All I know is the sleep tracking is off along with stairs climbed and now I'm having my doubts about resting and max heart rate calculations. The formula they use for max heart rate was developed back in the 70's and has been proven to be in error by several experts in the field.

@Pat_B what is. if there is. is the reason the app says for not seeing sleep stages.

Whenever this happens to mine, I usually restart the the Fitbit itself, not the app. After that it usually records sleep stages for a month or two until I have to restart it again. I'm not sure what the problem is, or if restarting it directly fixes the problem, but it worked for me Smiley Wink

PS: Yes this is a common issue, although Fitbit won't admit it.

Thank you! I did re-start the fitbit, but doesn't seem to make a difference... not sure what else to do

I guess there is no way to fix the simplified sleep stages once their recorded on the fitbit app.

Hello all, hope you are doing fine.

Here are some other steps I would like you to try:

1. Manually sync the tracker. See instructions in How do Fitbit trackers sync their data?
2. Restart the tracker. See instructions in How do I restart my tracker?
3. Try sleeping with the tracker on their non-dominant hand.
4. If steps 1-3 don't work, I suggest manually logging your sleep to reflect the time slept. See instructions in How do I change my sleep history?

Also, I would like to know which mobile devices you have, are they compatible?

Hope to hear from you soon. Robot Happy

I have the same issue my blaze had been tracking sleep stages but stopped mid-February, I have tried logging in and out of the app, running power down to zero, restarting update, refreshing the app, rinse and repeat several times to but no help..just the old solid block of sleep time, it is getting frustrating that there seems to be no support from Fitbit on the issue.

Sorry about your sleep @macbak .

I dont see any steps in your post that is recomended.

Let's restart the charge 2

Make sure your heart rate is working .

Wear the tracker a little higher up the arm.

Do not use the Start Sleep now that is found in that app .

Change sleep to senditive

Change heart rate to on .

Of course you only want to try one step at a time.

I see nothing in your post about what the app tells you for now stages Screenshot_20180310-135321.jpg

My Blaze sleep tracker is working in all categories, only problem is it keep telling me I'm awake when I'm not and is not giving me full credit for the amount of sleep I am getting. I have to go and adjust it manually and it still round time down. Very frustrating.

A warm welcome to the Community @macbak, @SunsetRunner it's great to see you around and @Rich_Laue thanks for stopping by.

I would like to know if the instructions provided by our friend worked? Also, keep in mind that your Blaze will start registering your sleep 1 hour later since it needs to be sure you are actually sleeping. As mentioned in previous post, you can check the What should I know about sleep stages? article for more information.

Thank you for the warm welcome to the community. I don't feel any of the advice I have received  regarding my sleep problem fixed anything. If the Blaze had a simple sleep and awake button installed it would not have to estimate. I fall asleep very quickly and the tracker is not crediting me for all the sleep I am getting. I have also noted it has told me I was awake for several minutes during the night when I know I was not. I might as well go back to shutting it down at night and saving the charge. I have several other opinions on ways they can improve this device but no one at Fitbit seems to care. They are busy making new devices and not concerned with fixing what they have already produced. Sadly this seems to be the trend with most companies these day. All ahead full and no mind for quality or service. Thanks for attempting to assist. I'm sure I'll be back again.

I have had many emails from Fitbit saying that they know there are known issues about the sleep stages and engineers are working on a fix. They call it an "optimization" issue and won't replace it. The only advice they keep giving is the basic steps, that do nothing, and to voice it on here so that the product development teams will see our concerns and deliver what their customers want. Well product development teams, we want our Blazes to work. We want them to do what we paid for. Now I see that it's on its way out so I don't know what to take from that except that you don't care about your current customers who have spent their money on your product and are having problems. You just want us to spend MORE money on future products. If their is NO support for this one, why would we waste our money on a different Fitbit? You're going to drive us all to different companies, which is a shame.

This seems to be the new business model these days. Just hurry up and make more new stuff that don't work. And of course raise the price as well. Sad state of affairs.
