Hi all.
Loving my Blaze... but I really don't get the smart tracking feature. When I ride or walk for well over the 15mins (required to commence the smart tracking) my blaze shows zero sign of doing any tracking. Its only when I go back to the app (presumably having sync'd after the activity) that I see the activity IN the app. Shouldn't the blaze itself pop up with some sort of activity metrics after the 15min threshold passes, as is done when manually commencing the activity logging on the watch itself?
I want to see progress as I bike/walk... no just afterwards in the app. I also want visual confirmation from the watch that it has actually detected the activity too.
The help.fitbit.com pages (edit: regarding smart track function) only say (quite vaguely) one can see the (edit: smart track) data IN the app.
*confused*
Thanks, Stu.

Lion... thanks for the speedy confirmation! 🙂 Feature now requested: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Smarttrack-should-show-data-on-watch-for-current...
Rich... somehow you didn't get the gist or detail of my message, or I wasn't clear enough. I'm fully aware of the manual methods of of tracking activities.... but thanks for your time anyway. 🙂

Well @StuMelb I was simply adding to what @The_Lion posted. As for smart tracking it is not 100% accurate and was never meant to show live tracking data. This is simply because it requires two pieces of software to detect your smart tracked exercise. One piece is on the phone and the second is on the server in the cloud. Your tracker does not know that your exercising, just like the tracker does not know that your asleep.
The start, stop times, as well as the type is determined after a sync.
Personally I find it interesting that people by a $200 device with gps connected ability plus many other options then only use what features the Charge HR or Alta currently offer. The Blaze has so much more that it can do.

You'll have to forgive me... coming from a Basis Peak which DID do all those things ON the watch itself. But anyway, I concede they are different beasts.
