Starting calories burned higher today than usual

So if I don't put the fitbit on at all it calculates calories burned as 1350ish for those days. When I first put it on in the mornings around 7am it says ive burned about 450ish and then increases from there based on my activity. All of that makes sense to me and I get that it uses calculations based on my resting metabolic rate to make assumptions about my calories burned when im not wearing it. The problem is that I put it on at 8am this morning and it says I've burned 1550ish. What's up with that?

I suddenly had the same issue this morning.  I never wear my blaze when sleeping and today when I got up, it claims I burned over 2200 calories.  I barely reach that when I´m wearing the blaze and active.

One thing I noticed is it might be having trouble with resetting after midnight.  I checked the calories on my app and it states 498, which is accurate.  But....

My blaze shows 2278 for today, which is way off..fullsizeoutput_ac0.jpeg

Is it having trouble with resetting after midnight?  I have reset my Blaze by pressing the left and bottom right buttons and even shut it down.  Hopefully this will put it back on track again.  You might try the same, to see if it makes a difference

Recently I have had issues with the GPS accuracy.  Just started to overcount my walking and running distance by .5km (Last run I had was 8.6km, Blaze calculated 9.18km).  Never happened before until this month and after I got the new iPhone 7.  All last fall, it was working great and all was quite accurate, not sure what has happened this month (but I guess that is for another post 🙂 🙂 )

Glad I'm not the only one. It seems to be okay today (it started around what it normally does). The weirdest thing is when you look at the calories on the graph for the day, the total was very close to the day before. So the running total is a thousand calories higher than the broken down graph total for the day. So it's like it calculated correctly and then erroneously added a bunch of calories  out if no where. Even though it's working now I think I am going to reset and start over.
