My husband and I both have Blazes. We went for a walk together last night and he had 700 more steps than I had. He is 5'9" and I am 5'4", so I would think his stride length was longer than mine. It seems like I should have had more steps than him. Any ideas? I checked and we both have ours set to calculate the stride length automatically.

I would say one of your strides is not set correctly

Hey! I should have said that we both have it set to automatically calculate stride length. I'll add that to my original post.

A warm welcome to the Community @dana_lewis and @WendyB thanks for stopping by.
Keep in mind that your Blaze will calculate your information based on your height, weight, age and gender. But, if you think that your Blaze isn't being accurate, I recommend restarting your tracker, walk 100 steps and let me know how many it registered. Also, you can try to measure manually your stride length.
Let me know the outcome.

Hi! I restarted the tracker, walked and counted 100 steps two times:
First time my starting steps were 987 and ending steps were 1069, so 82 steps.
Second time my starting steps were 1078 and my ending steps were 1138, so only 60 steps.
What could be going on here? I still have my stride length set to automatic.

No one has the same stride. Everyone walks differently

Really, I don't think stride even matters. Try standing still and swinging your fitbit arm and watch the step count go up. Arm motion matters more than anything.
