Steps, heart rate and sleep discrepancies

This Blaze is so much work.  It's not tracking steps accurately, doesn't track dancing (why is this not included in workouts?), the heart rate is significantly under both another device and a manual count, and doesn't track sleep accurately if I get up in the night.  I've done the troubleshooting with the stride length, which helped some but I still see times where I'm walking, both arms free, and Blaze doesn't kick in. My Fitbit helped me lose and keep off 45 lbs and I loved it.  I thought I would love the Blaze too but find it's a lot of work and demotivating!!  I've seen the posts about each of these issues individually, has anyone else found multiple challenges?  I'm discouraged and ready to return it.

It's great to see you around @NadineRB. I will be glad to help you with your Blaze discrepancies.

  • The steps: I recommend restarting the tracker, walk 100 and let me know how many it registered.
  • The heart rate: Take a look at this post and this one, where you will be able to see some things that might be affecting this reading and some tips to improve it.
  • The sleep: Keep in mind that if you wake up at the middle of the night, the tracker will stop registering your sleep since you are already up. Are you seeing discrepancies in your sleep when you sleep without waking up?
  • The dance: Remember that you can manually log this activity by following the instructions provided in the How do I manually log an activity or exercise through the Fitbit App?. You can also check the Add Dance or Dancing to excersize list request, vote for it and leave your comment.

I hope this helps, let me know the outcome. Robot Happy

These steps have helped. Restarting the tracker and adjusting the stride length helped with step tracking - it seems more accurate now.  Heart rate seems better as well with wearing tracker higher up the wrist. Changing the sleep to "sensitive" helped with the issue of the Fitbit not recording sleep if you get up in the night but then go back to sleep.  It usually records this "second" sleep now.  Voted for the adding Dance to the exercise. I think this should be part of what Blaze tracks.
