I think swimming calories are calculated incorrectly: taking into account only the time elapsed and not the distance swimmed.
My experience is the following: swimming 50 minutes and 1.5 km is logged with 560+ calories (difference is less then 10 calories per log, I assume due to weight change). Once i worked hard, and passed the same 1.5km in 45 minutes. It was logged as 500 calories burned. As the distance was the same, I worked harder, so I assume it also should have been logged arounf 560 calories.

@blapath swimming is one of those events that have to be entered msnusly.. A means fitbit can only be as close as the user is honest.
I just took a lotion bf see that fitbit let's us enter diration, distsnce, and if we disagree with what fitbit calculatesg, fitbit gives us the ability to change the calories.

Yes, I am aware I can enter a calorie value. But I have no idea how much calorie I burned.
I am also aware any application Fitbit, or Apple or Jawbone, cannot calculate the actual value. But I can and should expect the calculation to be consistent and taking into account known and correct factor.
For instance, running: if I run 10 minutes and pass X km and I run 20 minutes passing 2X km, my expectation is burning twice as much calories in the second case (Y and 2Y calories). At the same time, if i run 5 minutes and also passing 10 km, the burned calories should be around Y. Maybe not exactly Y, maybe 0.9Y or 1.1Y, but around, as I invested twice as much work, force, enerrgy over half the time.
I expect the same for swimming. In other word, the burned calorie should be a function of time and distance, which is actually related to speed and actual 'work'. From the swimming logging, it seems to me Fitbit takes into consideration only time and not the distance.
