Swimming with Blaze?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

HI there, I'm currently training for a Triathlon and need some way of keeping lap times of my swimming to see how I'm improving

I have a Blaze but have read that I can't wear it in the pool, which seems silly for a £150 fitness tracker and watch, that cant track swimming.

Are there any plans for a waterproof/swim able alternative? or a way so i can utilise the blaze, to what could be its full potential?

Cheers,
THB

There is the Flex 2 which you can wear swimming and it will track swimming but that's the only waterproof fitbit available at the moment.

Doesn't that seem a bit silly to have a watch that's so expensive that cant do the same things at a lesser watch?

Personally, having spent so much on the Blaze, I wouldn't want to go and buy yet another product to do what the expensive one should do anyway.

Doesn't seem right to me.

A warm welcome to the Community @TheHungryBadger and @SteveH thanks for stopping by.

Given the design of the Fitbit Blaze, it is not possible to incorporate any swimming tracking capabilities. The Fitbit Blaze is only splash resistant and shouldn't be submerged in the water at all as that can cause the tracker to stop working.

Keep in mind that you can always manually log the activity "Swimming" by doing the following from your Fitbit app:

  1. Tap the "+" icon
  2. Tap Track Exercise
  3. Enter your information
  4. Tap Log It
  5. Sync

I hope this helps, catch you later. Woman Happy

DO NOT wear this in a pool. I did yesterday and the blaze has been glitching and vibrating non-stop ever since. Currently on hold with customer service 😞

Hi Alejandra, I know that i can manually add exercises, but it seems silly that the expensive watch cannot go in the pool and track my swim. I wash hoping for something to inform me of time while swimming, record lap times and heart rate, its unfortunate that the watch cant even do lap times or stop watch in the pool...unlike my cheap Casio watch.

You have to admit, Its an odd feeling to get to the pool and take off my expensive, purpose made, and purpose bought activity tracker, and swap it for a cheap £15 watch.

Don't worry i wont be wearing mine in the pool, but it would be nice if there was the option to exchange/trade in the blaze for one that works in water, when/if one is made?

Prior to me even knowing that I shouldn't swim with my Blaze, I had submerged it in the tub while given my kids a bath, showered, washed my vehicles, and even sat in a kiddie pool with it on. Shortly after all this water exposure, I wore it in the ocean while I was on vacation. Maybe I'm a bit lucky, because I have had no problems with it. It was fun to swim with it in the ocean while I used my "map my ride" app. It really shows how slow of a swimmer I am and how I'm horrible at swimming in a straight line.

I have experienced the same issue as Jessica and there is an exercise mode for swimming on the watch menu.

If this watch does not support this exercise then why is on the menu?

This is very misleading and I have attached some more picture which says the watch is water resistant.

Completely waterproof down to 25 feet underwater indefinitely, the Waterproofed Fitbit Blaze has been enhanced on the inside with our durable PlatinumX waterproofing process. Swim, surf and by all means sweat without any worries that your Waterproof Fitbit Blaze can keep up.
I hope Fitbit stands behind the product and removes the swimming exercise option from there devices which it does not support.

Unfortunately, I did not research before I wore mine in a swimming pool. I did this 6 times before it quit working. Because it was working fine after 5 times, I wore it the 6th time. It was still working till later that day. Now it does not work at all. Do not submerge your Fit-bit.

Some of us who know better apparently missed this post. This is completely incorrect. That description is from the third party water proofed Waterfi Blaze which is still on Amazon here. https://www.amazon.com/Waterfi-Waterproof-Fitbit-Blaze-Silver/dp/B01IIZ2AH4 No where does Fitbit themselves list the Stock Blaze as waterproof to 25 feet.

There is not a swimming option on the Fit Bit Blaze menu. I thought it was water proof from what I read online. Now I read otherwise. I put my Fit Bit Blaze into some dry rice for 24 hours, it seemed to be working again, so I tried charging it. It seemed to be charging and the green lights were flashing till the next morning, then it had a black screen and was unresponsive. So back into the rice for another 24 hours. I am happy to say it is really working this time!
