I am not seeing any documentation on the Blaze being packaged with or requiring a USB sync dongle like some of the other trackers. Will one be needed/shipped with the Blaze?

Does not sync with my computer running Windows 8 without a dongle. Glad I have my from my Zip.
Although now, it will not sync at all. Says it is synced but nothing shows up on my steps for 3 days now.

OK, I'm confused by all the answers here. I can synch my Blaze with my phone and tablet, but not with my computer using the charging cable. I'm connected with the charging cable, open Fitbit Connect on my Win 10 computer, hit "Synch" and it says "plug in a dongle". Can I synch with the charging cable?

Use the tablet or phone. Less stress than the computer.
If your computer was manufactured after either Windows 10 came out or January 1, 2016, your computer should have Bluetooth. If it does, add the device through Settings on Windows 10. I have an hp Pavilion that was manufactured after January 1st, and if I have Bluetooth on and go into Settings, I can see "Blaze Ready To Pair". Which I don't because my phone takes care of it for me.
For those running Windows 7 or 8.1, you'll need the dongle which does not come with the product.
And I still don't have any of the issues people are reporting.

@Elliots ~ The cable is only a charging cable, despite what some in this thread have claimed. As mentioned by the previous person, to sync with a computer you need either a dongle (at one point Fitbit was sending these for free on request to Blaze owners; don't know if they still do) or else a computer with specs as in the previous post.

According to the moderators, If your using the Win10 app you should be able to sync when connected to the computer.
As for instructions, if you go to fitbit.com/setup it will direct you to the correct software for your system.

This is in fact the solution (which is in the Fitbit website in some FAQ list on synch problems)!. I had previously downloaded Fitbit Connect software and was trying to use that. After much searching I found the correct Windows10 App (only through the fitbit.com/setup page)(My Win 10 upgrade does not have BT). I installed it and then had to uninstall the Fitbit Connect. Then had to turn off BT on my phone (because it was paired with the Blaze) and then was able to synch with the charging cable!! Did not need dongel. Thanks to those who replied.

The page to download the proper software can alo be found on the Blaze when it is first turned on.

If you upgraded, then it's in all likelihood your computer doesn't have Bluetooth. The hp Pavilion I'm using now was manufactured after January 1, 2016, (and after Windows 10 came out) and had Bluetooth installed on the motherboard. Which means if I wanted to sync my Blaze with my computer I could do it without either the dongle or charging cable. But the phone takes care of that for me.
It's highly recommended that you sync using a phone, phablet, or tablet. Each however as reported have their own demons, but I've managed to escape all that.

My 02c worth....
I have the Fit Bit Blaze, and a dongle from my Fit Bit charge plugged in to my Windows 10 pro desktop computer. The syncing problems I have had with the blaze are:
If my iPod 6 or Windows phone have Blue tooth turned on, the dongle in the computer cant find the Blaze when trying to synch with the website.
If I turn off Blue tooth in my iPod 6 and my Windows phone, the Blaze will synch without any problems.
So, maybe try turning off Blue tooth in your phone or tablet if your computer with a dongle wont sync with the Blaze.

@MaxLV and anyone else, the symptoms your describing are the limitation of the Bluetooth protocol. A client, your tracker, may only talk to one server, phone, ipad, oc, at a time.
If the tracker is bonnded, think electrically tied to the ipad, it will not see a request from the computer.

Hello,
I use the Fitbit connect software when I need to update or synch my Blaze to my computer.
You can download the Fitbit connect software from https://www.fitbit.com/en-ca/setup
I've been having problems with bluetooth synching lately.
When I use the supplied USB cradle and the Fitbit connect software I can successfully synch and update my Blaze every time.
As I write this response I'm currently using the provided USB cradle and updating my Blaze.
I hope this helps.
