Okay this is going to sound funny, but over the last week I have experienced numerous Sync Issues. At first I thought it was my Blaze having BT issues with my phone or something like that. But I started recording where and when I could sync and when I could not.
My findings are so far (NOT PROVEN YET... NEED MORE DATA)...
1. Anywhere a Pokemon is heavy (e.g. GYM or Station) the sync seemed to not work.
2. Regardless of Network Connection in heavy traffic areas Sync had issues.
So I have been researching this all week and found my home in Georgia has no Pokemon in the area and I have no issues with Sync. But the ATL airport I do have issues on both Wi-Fi and on Cellular. The same was true for the silcon valley area in general. Large Pokemon deployment and now bandwidth is becoming a comondity that is needed.
I am wondering if others are experiencing similar issues.
Please share for research purposes...
Thanks.

Huh, that's an interesting finding @Andhanni. Thanks for sharing this with us!
I would think that areas where Pokemons can be found or Gym or Stations are heavy traffic areas because all the people that are around which I think could give connectivity and syncing issues as you mentioned before. I don't really play Pokemon Go myself so I have not been able to test this or experience anything like this while around Pokemon areas but hope others can give some insight on how it's working for them.
Thanks for adding to the Community and anything else, be sure to share it with us! 🙂

I don't think syncing has anything with pokemon go.
When you sync your watch to your phone, I think this is the route the data travels:
Watch --> Phone (data on app does not get updated here)--> Fitbit account --> Fitibt account update -- > Data send back to phone app --> phone app gets updated.
Sync will fail anytime there is no internet connection on the phone (e.g., when you are on an airplane with no internet).
With so many phones in such a small area, I am not surprised if the cell tower is overtaxed to a point where it is disconnecting users. Keep in mind most cell towers and wifi access point is not designed to handle so many people connected at the same time.
Your best bet is to update your fitbit status somewhere else or update your status later.

Pokemon Go averages 6MB of data per hour:

It is probably network congestion at those points. Just like any traffic congestion, sync elsewhere for better access speeds.

@EFTC you are correct the two should not have impact on each other. The actual item I was referencing was bandwidth utilization and increase due to this craz...
In reality from my observations is that my APP (phone) needs to be able to community with the Fitbit server (and specifically my account) to allow the phone and device to sync. Unfortunately the system does not have an offline sync mode that would allow my watch and phone to sync and then when network is available the phone to sync with the account.
Thus back to my OP... Utilization and places in the past I could sync are not becoming issues cause of the increase bandwidth utilization. Are others experiencing the same?
