It's hard to say for certain, but it could be a few different things. One factor could be that if you manage multiple Bluetooth devices on your phone (ie Bluetooth speakers, car multimedia system, etc), there could be Bluetooth interruption that is influencing your text/calendar notifications. Unfortunately, this is a known limitation of Bluetooth.
If the above doesn't apply to you, I'd then recommend trying the tips mentioned here.

@Jojov62 I was getting my text notifications sporadically too when I first got it. I'm one that leaves my phone on all the time (Galaxy S6 edge) so I've found that if I restart my phone once a day (I do it in the morning) then I have no problems whatsoever anymore. I gives the Bluetooth a chance to reset. It's been working for me faithfully for about 3 weeks now.
