I just got my Fitbit Blaze a few days ago. It's a nice little fitness tracker/watch, but it leaves a lot to be desired as well. I think there are things Fitbit did well with the device, and things that it missed the boat on, many of them seem like things that just didnt make the first cut to production, and will hopefully come down the line in an update. Some of these are direct carry-overs from how my ChargeHR worked. So here's my list of a few things I'd like to see added and/or changed:
- Provide more watch face choices. This one is probably everyone's number one request. I'd love to have a few more options of watch faces. The ones now are ok, but each one seems to be missing something that another face has, but that face is missing something the previous face had.
- Allow all stats to be scrolled through (and the option to change the order of that scroll) on every watch face. For example, I really like the Zone face because it's clean and shows the date, but I want to tap it and see my steps first, heart rate second. I hate that for the watch face I like the best, I can only see my heart rate. It stinks that I have to choose another watch face to have my steps imidiately visable. (these options were on the Charge HR)
- I don't see the point of the "Today screen" where you have to swipe left to it, then tap it, then you see your stats. Why not just see your stats as soon as you swipe left? It has added an unneeded tapping action. This can be said for a lot of the other screens too.
- An option to change the order in which the screen appear when you swipe: Today, Excersize, FitStar, etc. Maybe I want Alarm to be right after the Today screen.
- An option to change the order in which your Today stats appear. ChargeHR had this.
- On the FitStar workouts, it would be nice if it gave a 2/10 or 5/10 reading so you know how close you are to the end on your workout. Meaning I'm on my 2nd of 10 workouts or 5 of 10 workouts.
- The Metal Link band should be a glossy stainless steel like most metal link watches out there. I just got the Metal Link band. One of the big perks of the Blaze is the ease at which you can switch your bands. However I was a little to see the band was more of a matte silver. Very similar to my Macbook pro surface material.
- I wish there was an option to display notifications (calls, text messages, calendar alerts) automatically on the Blaze. I don't like that I have to tap it or raise it to see the text message. I liked how on my ChargeHR, a call just appears on the screen as it came in.
- I know this one is a long shot, but I would LOVE to see notifications from my other apps too, like Twitter, Snapchat, etc. Email would be nice too, but I doubt that would be possible on this.
That's all I have for now. As I think of more, I'll follow up. I'd like to hear what others have noticed too since they started wearing the Blaze.
