Third-Party Bands?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

With the Blaze's versatility of being a removable module, I'd really like to see some third party developers get creative with an assortment of different bands/frames, or maybe even different types of housing for the blaze (like something that's just a clip if you didn't want to wear it on your wrist). Did anyone see/hear of anything like this? The only accessories I can find right now are the ones made by Fitbit, which surprises me. I'd really like to find a canvas band, or one that has a frame that is some color other than silver (like black or gold).

I haven't received the frame yet - supposed to arrive "May 2-17".  It's from Vovotrade.  I'll report on how well it does once I've received it.  What company was yours from?

You should make sure that the pin has locked into the little holes in the frame.  It can seem like it has, but not quite be set, and in that situation will pull out with a tug.  That happened the first time I put the new band on, always on the lower side.

Take the pins from the original blaze band and attach with those.? Or take it to a jeweler to attach it, its a minimsl charge, or free.

i had to open a claim on Amazon to attempt to get my $12.00 back from TooPoot, for the purple mesh watchband that never arrived.  too bad because i love all the colored ones,  This seller kept emailing me and promisng "delivery or refund" but they never actually respond to what you say.  I asked them first to resend the band and how about the matchign frame to make up for their holding my $$ for the last 6 weeks.  they send the same email saying that they will make it right.

the kicker is that my order is still showing "ON TIME delivery"...sheesh, life is too short to keep running in circles after these people.  hopefully a reputable prime seller will get me a blue frame and band in the next few months.

OK, that Vovotrade frame arrived last night.  The rose gold band matches perfectly in tone, but is glossy while the frame is matte.  Otherwise they look good together - much better than a silver frame with a gold band.  The band mated without any flaws, and is holding perfectly.  I had to slightly stretch out the frame a bit before the Blaze could fit inside it, but that's now working well too.  Pics attached.

I rec'd the Otiom blue mesh band and matching blue frame today.  very nice tight fit--the blue is deep but not navy--the frame is MATTE.  it came nicely boxed and i thought it was ready to go---i took it out of the box only to realize that only 1/2 of the band was attached to the frame!! (i was the person who spent hours in march trying to do this, succeeded in cutting my fingers--only to take to my jewelry store and the lady showed me with tweezers--now i am a pro).  I was able to attach the other 1/2 of the band--twice because the first time i did it backwards and still be on time for work.

Anyway it is a nice looking band in a color i wanted, from a Prime seller.  the color might scratch on the frame and magnet bar, i noticed this with my tweezers, but it is on the underside.  i may put a coat of clear nail laquer on the magnet bar..  i would post a pic, but i can't figure that out either.

today I rec'd the "colorful" band  which is like a rainbow--effect mesh with a rosegold base--also very pretty, i am waiting on the pink frame i ordered from china.

i have been wearking the royal blue since last Friday, doing heavy work--lifting garden stuff, plants mulch...not a scratch yet--(just the screen saver--i should buy these in 10 packs)

I've bought a few different replacement bands and frames now, all from third party sellers on Amazon, and I can honestly say I'd recommend the black metal one (in the link below) to anybody. I've worn it several times and am really pleased with it, especially for the price.

It came with the contraption to remove the links, which is pretty cheap and flimsy. I was a little afraid it would break before I got it sized correctly (but it didn't!) so that didn't give me the best first impression. Unlike the device to add/remove pins though, the band is sturdy and is extremely easy to both attach and detach from the frame. The coloring is a black black and it's almost in between matte and shiny, which I like. It's not shiny enough for that mirror-like reflection, but isn't a dull matte that just looks flat either.

I haven't worn mine with the black frame but I have worn it with the silver one, the gold, a copper color, and a brown one and it looks REALLY good with all of them! I love mixing metals, so was excited to find it was so (visually) versatile.

I bought this "rubber" purple one and compared to my original Fitbit band (black) this one is pretty cheap looking and feeling. I haven't worn it more than once or twice so can't say how well it holds up, but my overall impression was cheap. However, if I were to see the same one on somebody else, I don't think it'd look cheap at all. When you're holding it and have the original right next to it, there's an obvious difference, but nobody would look at it and get the impression it's junk. It does transition really really into and out of the frame though, so that's a plus.

I've gotten my "leather" ones from different sellers and am pleased with all of them but not crazy about any of them. For the price, I definitely can't complain, but if anybody's found a cheaper leather band from a third-party seller that they really like, I'd love to know about it!

They oughta make a Milanese loop band. The ones on Amazon scare me. I'd feel much better with a Fitbit designed band.

I have a question what the different between the regular Fitbit blaze and the Fitbit blaze gunmetal? I like the black frames but is that the only difference that I am paying an extra 30 bucks for?

Fitbit claims their coating process for the gunmetal frame is superior, which is why the cost is "justified"...:i can get 3 extra frames in gunmetal on Amazon, for $30.00...., but of course why bother when the Blaze can't even track steps accurately?

check pebble time.  the pebble 2 comes out in nov.

people have complained (and posted pictures of the fitbit charge hr band bubbling up)

if you want to try a Blaze, i recommend buying from Costco.com, because they honor the return through the entire warranty period, not like fitbit's 45 days.
