Third-Party Bands?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

With the Blaze's versatility of being a removable module, I'd really like to see some third party developers get creative with an assortment of different bands/frames, or maybe even different types of housing for the blaze (like something that's just a clip if you didn't want to wear it on your wrist). Did anyone see/hear of anything like this? The only accessories I can find right now are the ones made by Fitbit, which surprises me. I'd really like to find a canvas band, or one that has a frame that is some color other than silver (like black or gold).

Apologies in advance for this huge rant over the quality of these 3rd party bands and frames, as each one I've order lasted a week, before the paint scratched off. Who know's whats in them or under the paint! In Canada we have a show called Marketplace, which did a whole episode on cadmium and other low grade metals that are used with cheap/costume jewellery (google/youtube it). I got a 'leather' band that smelled off and tore when I tried to install it. I bought a milanese loop that after a few days the paint flaked off, but what is the material underneath vs what they say it is?

The only third party band I used now is a Fossil leather strap, it cost $40 cad and put on at watch store (regular bar, not quick release), but so nice. The fitbit looks even more premium when I wear it at work. Switch back to the original when I get home. Looking forward to their new canvas straps for the wknds.

My only wish was they'd sell the black frame and matching straps with black clasp, as it elevates the look of the fitbit. When I used a third party black frame ppl would stop me just to check it out. Too bad the coating came off after a while...

They do say that you get what you pay for.

I got the band and frame set. No need change the bands the pins are set. I just change the Blaze out when I go fancy or to work. I waited for the frame to be added just for that reason. I read through the reviews and that was a problem I didn't want to deal with.
Good luck.

the UMTele milanese bands are better quality so i have seen.  i have a deep blue mesh and matching frame, plus a pink color frame--nothing has chipped but i would not wear these bands for heavy contact exercise either.

i got a nice leather one for about $13.00, it was a bit stiff at first but now it is fine, it's not glued or stitched it seems to be good quality--but now i got the idea from someone to try my older fossil band that i loved on the watch--i am betting it will fit.  it was a favorite camel colored croco pattern.  thanks for the ideas.

Hi. I have the same new band and rose gold one too.

Have u noticed that the blaze battery goes quickly while wearing it? Wondering if the magnetic clasp affects the battery life. Have to charge it every 10-ish hours. Anyone else have same issue?

no, the battery life issues I have is no matter the band . The OEM or the two UMtele bands I wear the Blaze with.

Edit: current UMtele review on current favorite band...

Maybe I am the only one, but I have had to return (to Amazon) two different brands of third party bands, one for the Alta and one for the Charge 2, because they do not fit the device correctly.  They are very hard to get on andoff and do not seat with the definitive "click" that you get from a fitbit band; also, for the Charge 2, the band was not flush with the top of the tracker.   Fitbit, please give us more options for replacement bands; how about white for the summer or a nice lght gray?

Basic (disintegrated), Ultra, One, Surge (returned), Flex, Charge, Alta, Charge 2, iPhone 7 Plus, Macbook Pro, iPad Pro.

@guitarwoman I don't think your the only one. I've had two 3rd paty bands for the Blaze, the 9ne would not stay on long enough to be usfull and the second one fell apart in less than 30 days.

My neighbor bought a 3rd party band from Walmart for the Blaze, it went on easy, stays on and is holding up.
