What is the best way to track basketball

I just wear it like normal. I play basketball with my family every night and my Blaze always auto tracks it as "Sport". And we are talking basketball with a 3 & 5 year old, so I am sure a "real" basketball game would definitely be automatically logged.
More info about the SmartTrack feature here.

Welcome to the Community @Lamonthayes. I would definitely follow @Jrdubyakc's recommendation and let SmartTrack work. But you can also manually log this activity by doing the following from your iOS Fitbit app:
1. Tap the exercise tile.
2. Tap the timer in the top right corner; this will take you to the Mobile Run screen.
3. Tap "Log" at the top of the screen.
4. Log your activity.
Keep the stepping up!

You could just start playing basketball and it should log it as a sport. Or manually put it in workout mode.
Going to Help, link found below, then I typed auto tracking I see this article on ways to track exercises.
This should help more than I would be able to.

Basically no one answered this question directly.

Workout mode doesn't help because it doesn't track your steps or miles played during basketball.

Thanks for the reply @Choctaw970. Keep in mind that Blaze has the SmartTrack feature that will automatically register your activity. I play volleyball and the tracker registers this under the name "Sport". You can play basketball and just leave your tracker on that at the moment of syncing you will be able to see this activity.
Keep the stepping up!

@AlejandraFitbit thank you so much for the quick response !! I wasn't aware of the SmartTrack feature. I was under the impression it wasn't for the Blaze; but thanks to you I watched the video. So it appears that you do not have to do anything?! This is great news. It also appears the data collected will go towards your weekly goal or any weekly or daily competitions one may be in. This is amazing.
However, I did notice when I watched the video you provided that the iOs9 Fitbit App for my iPhone 6s Plus doesn't have the same format nor does it allow you to change your settings for Smart Track- am I missing something? THANK YOU

You are welcome @Choctaw970, I am glad to hear that your inquiry has been resolved. About your second question, could you please be more specific about what would you like to change?
Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi @AlejandraFitbit- it is not a problem at all. Essentially what I was trying to say is that the Settings format didn't match what I am seeing on my iPhone 6s PLUS as it was on the YouTube video (i.e. I cannot change the SmartTrack default parameters); however, it works great as it is and I have no complaints. Thanks again and sorry for the late reply!!

Alejandra one question about basketball and use of Fitbit:
i assume Fitbit Charge HR will not count steps correctly during the basketball game because of the ball handling/dribbling. So i assume that it could work if you put it on the ankle? Would you agree with this?

Welcome to the Community @vivalaecho. Actually, Fitbit Charge HR also has the SmartTrack feature. Have you tried it during a game? If you haven't, I recommend trying while playing. You can also, put your tracker into activity mode by pressing the button until it vibrates and then log the activity by doing the following from a computer:
1. Go to the Activities page by clicking Log at the top of your dashboard, then click Activities.
2. Under Log Activities, click a common activity or search for your activity in the search box.
3. Select your activity from the search results. If the activity is not in our system, you have the option to create your own activity by clicking the Create custom activity text that will appear below the search field.
4. Enter the duration, distance (if applicable), and start time of your activity. You have the option to manually enter the number of calories burned here if you'd like to.
5. Click Log Activity. Your activity will now be visible and editable in the Logged Activities area.
But if you think that these options don't provide you accurate information, you can try to wear your tracker on the ankle.
Let me know how it goes.

Few years late lol but yes, just wear it. Will log as sport. After that log into the app and then categorize it as basketball. Either that or log in track the workout manually
