I have tried several times to get accurate information regarding calorie burn from my blaze. Today is a typical example.
I went for a cycle ride this morning and covered 32.5 miles with a an elevation gain of 1965ft in under 2.1/2 hours at an average speed of 12.5 miles an hour
My weight is 133lb and is set in my app.
My fitbit credited me with just 434 calories. Is that even a possibility? an hour on a stationary bike in the gym set for my weight and age and with a resistance of 10 gives me 700 calories/ hour and is reasonably consistant accross different machines.
I had borrowed another FitBit Blaze and used it on my other wrist so it was using my same hearbeat for its calculations this credited me with 880 calories.
My FitBit only recorded an elevation gain of just 300ft which is less than the climb on the first hill from my home.
While getting this information the App has updated my calorie use to 775 calories which amazingly is the exact infrmation that my Garmin Cycle computer came up with at the end of the ride. My riding partner recorded over 2200 calories for the same ride with me this morning but weighs 28lb more than me has anyone any Idea what is going on? and how has my FitBit managed to get the information from my Garmin when it could not work it ut for its self?
In adition to the above my FitBit states I have walked 5890 steps while the borrowed one 6888 and the borrowed one is on my non dominant wrist. Any suggestions? Its a big difference and with any difference I would have expected it to be the other way arround.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @plasticplumber. Thanks for the information and for trying to fix this by yourself. In this case, I recommend restarting your Blaze and follow the tips provided by our friend @bcalvanese in the Things You Can Do To Make The Blaze More Accurate post.
I hope this helps, catch you later.

I have tried restarting my Blaze several times and I am now of the opinion that the blaze is not tracking both my movement or heart rate correctly.
Although my heartbeat is being followed and on occasions will be accurate in comparison to machines in the gym it often lags behind quite considerably. At the start of my exercise the heart rates are similar but then the FitBit lags behind the machines read out before catching up again after about 9-10 minutes when it falls within +/- 1 beat with the machine reading and remains there for the duration of the workout. I have no idea how recovery rates would compare.
Secondly my step count can be several thousand steps less than that recorded by a Withings device worn on my hip for last week my step count was 98,512 for my FitBit and 11,200 according to Withings.
I know some of this is possibly from time on a rower but over all the accuracy would appear to be well out and I am getting to the stage where I am seriously considering returning my blaze and buying something else.
Yesterdays workout in the gym weight and age entered into both the machines I worked out on gave me 1100 calories and Fitbit 861 but only 495 of these appears to have been carried across to my linked My Fitness pal account which is where I log my food as the FitBit database did not appear to be very good for the UK when I initially tried it.
What is going on?
