Two years later, my Blaze still lasts for 5 days like a champ!

I just noticed some people complaining about their Blaze's battery life. So I wanted to say that I just passed the 2 year anniversary mark for my Fitbit Blaze and it still lasts 5 days for me on a single charge. Sometimes even more! Granted on occasion it drains a little sooner, but that's likely due to a glitch or random fluke. After I restart the device and charge it completely, it will consistently last 5+ days!

I'm so pleased by this and also very surprised, given that my phone's battery starts deteriorating after 1 year, with every phone! Makes me wonder what Black magic Fitbit used for my battery! Maybe I lucked out and got a really good one.

Given this amazing:battery: life I'm a bit sad that I'm planning to upgrade to the Fitbit Versa. But I only hope that the Versa lasts just as long as the Blaze (I hope the + in 4+ means 4+1=5) and also will continue to stay as awesome two years down the road! Don't disappoint me Fitbit!

Good to hear that. My Blaze is also in good working order, although I don't use it as much now having the Ionic. I'm pleased to say the battery on the Ionic is even better, so hopefully the Versa's will be comparable.

Not having to charge the battery every day really helps prolong the life, that would be the black magic fitbit are using. In comparison you most probably charge your phone every day so it will have many more charge cycles, thus shortening the life of the battery. Now only if we had phones that could last 5 days.... Smiley Very Happy

Let me also join the club of happy Blaze owners. Since I passed to Ionic my Blaze in on the wrist of my 15 years old boy and he is really happy. I'm sure also in his case the battery lasts at least 4 days.

Yep me too. Going strong.

There is a correct way to charge it and I think most people dont do that

Me too. I love my Blaze. ❤️ Looking at the Versa but wondering will it actually give me anything more than my current Blaze does as present. Is it really worth changing, when there’s nothing wrong with what I have. 😊

There are some benefits for the new Versa. It has additional sensors that can give you more detailed information (SPO2 sensor is one I can think of). If you are female, it can also track the female health (euphemism to say that it tracks your period cycle) which could be useful. It has Fitbit pay if you like to pay for things by tapping your wrist awkwardly on a pay terminal. It has apps that could potentially be very useful. The Blaze was the first attempt at Fitbit smartwatch but the Versa can take it a step further.

Oh oh oh! Best new feature: It looks a LOT nicer than the Blaze! 😃😂

This is not quite accurate @N8teGee. It depends on when you charge it too. If a Li-ion (Lithium ion) battery is rated to have 300 charge cycles when you charge it after it completely drains, then you can increase the number of charge cycles by 5 times if you charge it after only draining 40% battery life. So, if you were to charge your Fitbit Blaze after a day or two, you are charging it when the battery is only drained by about 20-40%. So, you can go through many many more charge cycles before you deteriorate your battery.

In fact, research suggests that the ideal way to increase battery life is to charge the battery after it is drained by about 40%. In other words, if you charge your Blaze after every two days of use, it will be the best approach to avoid significant loss in capacity. But what most of us do is wait till it is fully discharged.

Which is why I find it extremely strange that despite this suboptimal strategy I am getting excellent battery life 2 years down the line! So it still looks like black magic to me! 😂

If you want to boast about battery life after two years, you should have your stats public as well. Show us it was actually used.

Firstly I'm not boasting. This is not a personal achievement to boast about. I'm just praising Fitbit.  Secondly, are you saying that I'm lying? I don't need to compromise my privacy to prove to some skeptic that I use my Fitbit blaze everyday. But I think you can see my daily average number of steps. I usually average 11000-12000 steps a day. Now it's 7000 as I've been home the last 4 days and hardly moved. And I've walked over 3000 miles since I got my Fitbit 2 years ago. Does that satisfy your doubts?

@MarkMM Which stats do you seek? As far as I know my stats are set to public.

Mine's almost a year and still lasts about 5 days also. Quickview and all-day sync and everything enabled.

It does get a bit weird from time to time though but I think that's a battery calibration error. In any case I have to leave it in the charger for another half an hour after it says it's full, because it actually isn't.
