There are few situations when I don't want to wear my blaze and just wear my classic watch. So is it possible to keep counting steps and what not and keep my blaze in my pocket and still rcv some analysis?

The Blaze is meant to be worn on your wrist, so may not be as accurate in your pocket.  But it should count steps.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes!

Another option is to have a Fitbit Zip tracker that you wear when you don't want to wear the watch.  You can alternate between the two trackers (Blaze and Zip).  I personally would be worried about losing my Blaze, or scratching it in my pocket.  But I'm a woman and I don't often have deep pockets, lol.

I've done this before, as I have a Zip (did not buy it for that purpose but it does come in handy) when I want to wear a dress watch or no watch.

Yes you can use it in your pocket, I do it regularly in shopping malls when pushing a stroller.   I used to put the Flex in my pocket or sock, and that was meant for the wrist as well.

Give it a 100 step trial, just to a quick 100 with it on your wrist, then 100 in your pocket and see how it works for you.

I think Blaze should offer an accessory similar to the blaze charger where you can put inside a case and move around with it so it acts like the zip. But as an alternative I just purchase a small case and place the blase inside to avoid scratches.

I think @Julia_G in her post above, has the best answer.  A question like this is easier to try and see for yourself, then to ask and get a bunch of conflicting answers.

Just turn the heatheart rate off if the Blaze wewill be in the pocket for an extended period. This will extend the battery life.

How do you alternate between the 2? Do you delete and add and vice versa?

  1. To alternate take the one device off and put the other device on. When you sync it will use the data for each minute from which ever tracker was counting steps. I sometimes find that sometimes a few, up to 30, steps might be lost on that minute where both trackers where counting. To prevent this do a sync when changing. Usually this loss is less than 10 steps, since in not very active around the time I switch.

I recently found that step tracking is actually more accurate with the Blaze removed from the frame and put in my pocket.

With it on my wrist, from sitting position and getting up to walk it takes 25 to 75 steps until the Blaze starts counting steps. With it in my pocket, it immediately starts counting steps.
