Useless at gym on stationary bikes?

I've tried every exercise on the FB and nothing is tracking my "steps" not even "bike"... Any advice? The machines at the gym say in doing miles and burning calories and my FB is saying I took seven steps!!

I use the "Spinning" exercise mode to track stationary bike activity.  Otherwise that sounds correct, your riding a bike not walking, why would you expect it to count steps if you are not taking any steps?

On a treadmill, for your bodies health, and to track steps, you don't want to hold on to those bars.
If you are using the bike mode of the Blaze, turn the GPS of first, since your hands are stationary, as @Nocturnx stated no steps will be recorded. This is because the tracker needs to see movement, and it is mounted on the arm, so the movement needs to be in the arm. Now for what the tracker does, is watch your HR to allow it to calculate the calories burnt.
