Verizon Messages+ App won't sent notifications to FitBit

I have the Messages+ App from Verizon, and it's not integrating with the FitBit Blaze. I had this problem on (both) ill-fated Note 7s and just switched over to the Messages (without a '+') app, but now i have the LG V20 and I'm hopeful there's something that can be done to make it work.

Does anybody know how to set it up?

There's this thread, but the title wasn't clear, so it's a very long thread with many well-meaning but off topic suggestions. The names of all the components involved are somewhat generic (since Messages and Messages+ are treated as the same word), so I may just have been unable to write an effective search for it.

@ionFreeman  Do you know if the phone is a supported device?  https://www.fitbit.com/devices. If it is not listed, it doesn't mean it won't work, but some things may not function properly, which may be why you are having trouble with the notifications.

I'm sure it's the app. The LG V20 isn't listed, but the Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy Note 10.1 from Samsung are, and they're not even announced devices.

If Verizon Messages+ works with Blaze from somebody else's phone with a setting that's not on mine, I'll stand corrected

@ionFreeman  Maybe someone will be able to confirm this for you - I am iPhone user, so I can't help you answer that.
