Weird iMessage/Notification behavior

I have occasionally noticed that iMessage notifications for individual senders cease coming through on my Blaze. I can have two people text (imessage) me and one will trigger a Blaze notification, and the other will not. Consistently. 

 

I've discovered that if I go to my iPhone and delete ALL the previous texts from the problem sender, then I'll start getting Blaze notiifications from them again. For awhile anyway. This has happened with multiple senders, most high volume senders.

 

An aside, I also have a Surge and I've noticed that the Surge will still get the notifications, even though the Blaze won't.

I can't get any to come through, but let me try deleting the thread. Curious if that will get it working for a while...

 

My call and calendar notifications work fine, so it is not the connection.
