What are the two buttons on the Blaze for?

Apologies for being dumb, this is my first device.  I didn't get instructions with my Blaze which explained what the two buttons on the side were for and how to use them.  I'd be grateful for an explanation from anyone.

The buttons use depend on what's showing on the screen. Best thing to do is to go through the manual at https://staticcs.fitbit.com/content/assets/help/manuals/manual_blaze_en_US.pdf and post back here if you still have questions.
