When I sync, I watch it start with one # then finishes with another

Drives me nuts but I will see a number on my tracker like 5,500 steps and I open the Fitbit app and sync and see the 5,500 in the app but when it's done syncing it shaved off a couple hundred steps. This happens a lot. The good thing is I keep walking to make my goal but I hate the inaccuracy

This happens to me ALL THE TIME.  Ugh it drives me crazy.  I stopped looking at the watch most times so I don't even know the difference.  Otherwise it's discouraging.  I wonder if it's an algorithm built in to get rid of erronious steps (what the device decides are erronious)... but still... I wish it wouldn't happen.

Hello @picasso66 and @AliceL it's great to have you here! 🙂  I haven't heard any report about inaccuracy while syncing, I would like to ask some questions to better understand your issue. Are you logging any activity, this includes activities recorded by SmartTrack?

I'll be around if you have any questions! 🙂

@AliceL @picasso66  That typically tends to happen when you have multiple devices syncing to your Fitbit account. I'd check out this help article about using more than one tracker when you get a chance.
