Received new Blaze today in the mail... no instructions whatsoever included.
Which I think was fine with the Surge, but it seemed weird for the Blaze to not have it since it's a next generation device and a lot of people are familiar with the Surge already.
For example, as I'm fumbling to set it up, my phone complains that the charge on the watch was too low so I think, "Okay I'll charge it." But it wasn't obvious to me that I needed to pop the watch face out of the band and put it inside of the charger thing it came with, just because of the fact that I'm so used to plugging a USB cable into the back of the Surge. Fortunately, I have half of a brain and figured that out myself but I think having instructions would have saved me the confusion.
I noticed it comes with a tiny card that tells you to visit /setup on the FitBit website but that doesn't given any hardware instructions, just links to download relevant software.

Totally agree with this. The ONLY reason I knew to pop the thing out was because a guy at worked mentioned it. Even so, I tried to pop it forwards intially - makes sense it's not that way of course, but one doesn't think logically when they've a new shiny in their hands!
We HAVE to have the phone app in order for the thing to sync, right? So why not either link to the online manual right there, or better, when I tap the blaze have a 'how to charge' link to a couple of diagrams right there in the app. Or just print it on the side of the box.

I had the same experience with the Fitbit Alta I bought and tried to set up (took days) this week - frustrating. I certainly don't think it's user friendly. I didn't have this much trouble with the other brand I had previously.

Too bad the cost savings aren't being passed on to us - the consumers. The cost to manufacture a Blaze or iWatch or Samsung Galaxy ? is 1/10th of what it sells for. Throw in marketing costs, shipping etc. and it still sells at over 200% markup from cost. It won't hurt the company's bottom-line to include a Start-up Guide. As a former retail manager, it's almost embarassing what the mark-up is on clothing at the retail level. That's why these companies reports billion dollar earnings every year. Gotta keep those shareholders happy!

Have you seen the size needed to stuff manual into the box?
The first thing I do is scan them into the phone, this is so I can read them.
The manual for several of the tracker a have been updated a few times since I got them.
