Which info is accurate: my Blaze or the elliptical?

I've been working out on the elliptical and I use the "elliptical" workout setting on my Blaze to track it.  My Fitbit has me burning about 50 less calories and going about 1/2 mile less than what the elliptical says. Which is more accurate? I'm assuming Fitbit but do know that I type in my age and weight on the elliptical.

@Cvernadakis welcome to the forums.
I'll start off about the mileage, in theory they both are wrong, your not moving. The mileage reported by the machine is the imaginary miles the wheel traveled. The problem comes in the fact that the Blaze has no way of knowing the circumference of the wheel, it is using an average based on a typical elliptical machine. Not knowing how many miles the machine reported in unable to say more.
As for calories, it is a known fact that most lower priced home units purposely, feel good, over estimate, caloric burn.. Here again without knowing actually numbers I can't comment.
Let's say the machine said 100 and Fitbit said 50 there is a 50% differance, or the machine is 100% more.. Now if the numbers are 500 and 450 then there is a 10% difference or the machine is only 11% more.
Now I'm not saying either one is 100% correct, since they both use their on algorithms and basically take an educated guess. Did you have to setup you Age, Gender, Weight on the elyptical?

Elliptical are wrongs. They do not measure your HR for calories. At least the ones i used at the gym. I would say that the fitbit may be more correct although fitbit calories are also inflated. Not sure if the last frmware fixed that. I returned mine for this reason. I did like the look a lot and the features but calories were number one for me. When the blaze tells me i burn 450 calories for 50 mn walk, i know it is wrong. I am fit and very low HR while walking 3 mph. Correct values for me are 200.

But to tell you the truth at the end of the day, calories semed right.
That is why i am still watching the forum to see the improvement. Fitbit do have the best looking customizable trackers I think.
