Fitbit Blaze
Just finished a walk used both the Fitbit and Map my Run app. Checked as I was going and both appeared to be tracking correctly. When finished Map My Run tracked 1.07 miles, 19.10 minutes, 2361 steps. Fitbit has tracked for the day so far, (been wearing it all morning) 6.549 steps, .26 miles, 30 mins active.
Did I miss a button/option to log it? It was accurate during the workout but wasn't at the end. The miles have been off since I started using. This morning just picked it up to put on and it already had 13 steps tracked? Read a post earlier that made it sound like you have to have your phone on your person in order for it to track accurate miles?
Any suggestions are helpful.

You would need your phone for Map my Run.
If not using the exercise function on the Blaze you dont need your Phone. If you do then you will need it as it uses Connected GPS. But I cant see using 2 GPS myself

It's great to see you around @LBayne and @WendyB thanks for stopping by.
Can you please be more specific about how are you logging your exercise? Are you using both apps to log this?
I recommend trying to log your activities using the exercise shortcut on your Blaze. You just need to swipe to exercise and select "Walk". If you don't see this, you can add it by following the instructions provided in the How do I customize the exercises on my Fitbit device? article. Then sync your device and you will see your information. You can also try this by only using the MapMyRun app.
Let me know the outcome.

Thanks for the update @LBayne and @WendyB for your participation.
Regarding your question, Fitbit Versa, Fitbit Blaze, and Fitbit Charge 2 work with the sensors on your nearby phone to track GPS data (known as "connected" GPS).
Choose an exercise to see if it includes connected GPS. For more information about tracking exercise, see How do I use exercise apps and modes on my Fitbit device?
Let me know if you need anything else.
