why don't they allow you to text back to the person who texted you? Can't they make a softwere update on that?

There is no keypad on it for on thing. I think it would be more than a software upgrade.
Getting the text messages already drains the battery adding more will make it drain faster

I get similar battery life on my Pebble 2 as I do on my Blaze .... and the Pebble offers a reply function. No keyboard is required, the idea of replying to a notification on the Pebble is via pre-stored messages. Works rather well as far as i've tried it (and notifications are definitely better on the Pebble than the Blaze, hope some of the acquisition will help the fitbit products).
